Guest guest
I don't know what other parents here might say but I would stop the round and start again next weekend if he is better. I stop if the fever gets higher than 101. Janet [ ] Re: DMSA round - should be concerned with these symptoms? Good point... He's running a fever of 102.6... should I still keep going? We were suggested to start on lower than 5 mg because we did a very high dose of ALA (by mistake) on round 1 and needed to really step down to let his body recover. I know we should not " play " with doses during a round. So we'll finish this one at 2.5 and see if we can do 5 mg next time. So, fever or not - keep going? Thank you > > > > We're on round 2. We did the 1st round last weekend with ALA (and aside from a very large dose that I was giving my 40 lbs son) he did ok on the round. We saw a lot of melt downs following the round but it was explained to me (thank you, board!) that it was a heavy redistribution because of a large dose we were giving him. > > > > We were suggested to do a couple rounds with a small dose of DMSA and then try adding ALA. > > > > We're on round 2 (our first round with DMSA). He's on 2.5 mg every 3 hours. He was ok yesterday and through the night. Now, he looks like a child with a cold - very lethargic, laying on a sofa and only wants books read to him... stuffy nose... no fever though... > > > > Should I be concerned? Or is it a coincidence that a cold took place on the round? He was SO happy-go-lucky on the first round on a mega dose of ALA and he is completely in bits and pieces now on 2.5 mg of DMSA... > > > > I am upping vit E and C... Any other suggestions? Guest guest
, " Much of an effect " ? Actually, 2.5mg will have 1/sqrt(2) x the effect of 5mg. As in about 71%. You can seriously doubt all you want. I myself seriously doubt you have any competence or business giving advice here on chelation. Best wrote: > > Hi, > I've done over 90 rounds. Guest guest
Fever = stop. And please, for the sake of your child, do not listen to anything Best says. Stick to 2.5 mg for at least 6 rounds. Then go to 5mg if there are no more AFTER-round symptoms. lenakhais wrote: > > Good point... He's running a fever of 102.6... should I still keep > going? This is how one speaks English: " expertise " and " experience " are two different words that have different meaning. You may have experience chelating one child. But not having the technical knowledge qualifies as " zero expertise " . > Please tell me how you measure 2.5 mg accurately out of a 100mg capsule. > You start with a 25 mg cap and use a milligram scale. As I am about as interested in spoon-feeding you information as you are willing to provide it to others here, surely you can do the research yourself? Not interested in " having it out " . Interested in preventing mis-information from being propagated on this list. Done. End of story.
