Guest guest
Water is my favorite beverage, I rarely drink soda, perhaps one can a week if that. I will drink fruit juice or V-8, although not every day. In the mornings I have either herbal tea, decaf tea or decaf coffee. So, I have been a big water drinker and still got RA. Of course, I do believe water is very healthy for you and can make you feel better overall. My husband is a coca-cola addict, drinks 2-3 cans per day, sometimes more. Ugh, he has the worst diet and nothing I say will make him change. I truly fear he will have a heart attack by the time he reaches 40. All his numbers are terrible, he takes cholestorol lowering drugs and fish oil but won't change his diet! Anyway I am getting off topic here! --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , " ramyst66 " <ramyst66@y...> wrote: > > I am what people would call a Diet Coke aholic. I don't drink much > water and never have. Guest guest
I dont mean to make it sound like I think artificial sweetners are great and everyone should run out and consume them abundantly. When I do use them I prefer splenda whenever possible over the others, but it's clear that alot of false information " myths " have been spread about them. Like the info I passed along states, there are indeed people that can have an allergic type reaction, but that's probably the extent of it. Many of the affects people attribute to the artificial sweetners also happen to be side effects of caffiene consumption, caffiene is a true toxin to the bod and I think probably the real culprit. Artificial sweetners are surely not for everyone but not the horrible chemical concoction alot of people believe. t. > >> > >> Diet Coke may very well be the cause of all of your problems. Guest guest
I am also a diet coke/diet pepsi aholic. It's to me what coffee is to others in the morning. I have to have it. I drink the fountain soda w/ a lot of ice and do drink water daily tho. For me it's the caffeine I'm sure. I have not noticed any difference in my RA either way. Nothing that I eat or drink affects it. I've tried giving it up and haven't noticed any difference. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com -----Original Message-----From: Rheumatoid Arthritis [mailto:Rheumatoid Arthritis ]On Behalf Of ramyst66Sent: Friday, January 20, 2006 10:06 AMRheumatoid Arthritis Subject: drinking water dailyI am what people would call a Diet Coke aholic. Guest guest
Dear - I have to say that anyone with a self destructive or addictive personality tends to not want to do whats best for themselves. There are usually underlying issues there. Anything that is not within moderation is either Obesessive/Compulsive or Passive Aggressive. Someone in our family is addicted to food and has made himself obese, has diabetes and a heart bypass many years ago. He used to be a chain smoker. Just trading one addiction for another. Nothing you say or do can change him. Something is going to give out anytime now and he is a father, and grandfather. I cant get my guy to drink water, although his diet is ultra healthy and he may get kidney stones. If you cook for him, you can cook him good healthy meals but snacking on potato chips or Pork Rinds will undo that. I know its very frustrating. After reading the posts about this latest diet guru curing RA, its obvious that a healthy diet will help you, and you should do that in tandem with a sound RA medication profile. I eat very healthy and drink lots of fluid but RA is a parasite and I am the host. It really is just that simple. You can go out and get the latest book to transform your health, but the chemical biology of this disease cannot be denied. If you do not respect its destructive capability you stand the risk of permanent and life altering deformity and loss of quality of life. Good luck with your guy.
