Guest guest
I want to chelate my 3 1/2 yr old 33lbs or so so it would be 4.5 mg of DMSA? and the same of ALA? Now I bought 25 mg caps ...should I have done that? how to reduce to get exact amounnt here.... Also if I am doing chelation on myself 120lbs..what should I start with? Has anyone been chelating at the same time as the children..is it a good idea? Also what if child is on meds...should you keep those going? Whe the best time to give the vitamins so they are not chealted away? Thanks. Leanne
Guest guest
Are you looking at doing AC protocol? If yes, its 1/4 to 1/2 mg per pound of body weight. 33 lbs would be 8.25 mg (1/4 mg) - 16.5 mg (1.2 mg per lb). My son does AC protocol, but we started at 1/8 mg per lb and worked up. We started with the DMPS, did a few rounds to lower the body burden and make sure it was tolertated well, then added the ALA slowly. ALA is pretty potent, so we started at 2 mg and worked up. My 55 lb son is now at 8 mg DMPS/ALA, still not at 1/4 mg, but we're getting there and he is still making good gains. 25 mg is about the smallest amount you can get otc for ALA and DMSA. We use ALA and DMPS and the compounding pharmacy puts it in smaller doses for us. Most just take the 25 mg capsule, split in in 5 doses and either mix it in juice or recap it. Cant really speak to the meds, but we dont adjust my son's supplement schedule at all. The amount of chelator that your using with AC protocol isnt enough to pull the good stuff. ALA and DMSA will bind to the heavy metals first. There are a number of parents chelating themselves and thier kids. Im still getting my amalgams out, cant afford to do it all in one shot, but will start chelating myself once thats done. Just remember that the amalgams need to be out before you chelate and wait 90 days before using ALA. You can use DMSA or DMPS right after amalgam removal to lower the body burden. If your not a member of the group, it would be a good idea to join. Lot of good information there and they may be able to answer your question about the meds.
