Good morning, all,

Need some clarification. If I am dosing DMPS + ALA, I would administer both

DMPS and ALA every three hours. Regarding the DMPS amount that would be

administered every three hours, I am confused.

1. Is the DMPS amount administered every three hours the 1/8mg to 1/2 mg per

pound?

OR

2. Is the DMPS amount administered every three hours the (1/8 mg to 1/2 mg per

pound) divided by 2?

I was in the files section and noticed an e-mail from Andy where the DMPS amount

when doing DMPS + ALA was option #2. However, in the newcomer file, I am under

the impression that the DMPS amount adminstered every three hours would be the

same amount that would be administered every eight hours.

Just need to reverify.

My son has arsenic, mercury, and lead issues. From the newcomer file in the

Files folder, I found the below information. For my son, the chelators for

mercury and arsenic would be DMPS and then ALA to remove the mercury from the

brain.

Correct?

From -New Users Welcome File.doc:

DMSA: dimercapto succinate is approved by the FDA to chelate children for heavy

metal poisoning. It has a half life of four hours in the body. It also removes

other metals besides lead, but it does not remove metals from the brain and deep

within organs. It is advised that at some point ALA is used.

DMPS: Is good for removing mercury and arsenic from the body. It will remove

other metals but not as effectively as the DMSA. DMPS is not FDA approved and

may be harder to find a physician to prescribe it. It has a half life of 8 hours

in the body. ALA is needed at some point during chelation because DMPS does not

remove metals from the brain or deep within organs.

ALA: Alpha Lipoic Acid is an over the counter antioxidant that also happens to

bind and chelate mercury. It does cross the blood brain barrier and thus it

removes mercury from the brain. It is inexpensive and you don't need a

prescription to obtain it. It has a half life of three hours in the body.

Thank you again.

Jerry
