Guest guest
> > so Bee, does my daughter's symptoms show she has candida? She did want me to ask you, if you thought it had anything to do with her hormones. I myself think the diet will help her, but to get her there is another matter. Lilke you say this diet is good for anyone. +++Hi Angie. Sorry, I did not realize you were asking whether your daughter's symptoms meant she has candida. I don't have your original message handy, so I think you should have her take Dr. Crook's Candida Questionnaire to confirm it or not. Also, remember that this program isn't just for candida, since it is an overall healing program that helps anyone improve their health. We cannot expect our bodies to be healthy if we eat standard foods and diets and take in so many toxins from many sources. Here's the questionnaire: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro3.php All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Thank you so very much for your supportive e-mail. Called and texted my daughter last night, but did not hear back from her. She is currently on methadone and has been clean since last Sept. She was on methadone before, for 6 years, which resulted in her gangrene of the small intestine. Her varices happened when she was 9 years old, as they discovered that she was born without a portal vein, hence the shunt between her liver and kidneys. She has suffered for many years with high ammonia, mental confusion, and repeated hospitalizations to receive iv fluids to bring ammonia down. When she was 12, she received her spleenorenal shunt, and we were told then that she had a 5% chance of survival. They warned us then that she may have mental status changes down the road. Can't help but wonder why God let her live, only to become an iv drug user at age 18. She has been in 26 in-patient re-habs and 5 months is the longest she has ever had clean in all these years. Now, the Hep C diagnosis. Although she went down on her methadone, she absolutely cannot stay awake. She falls asleep while eating, smoking, and texting. Her quality of life is so, so bad. This is way more than being sleepy from methadone. Her Dad, who is the ultimate optismist, feels that this is a hopeless situation. I am very afraid of the treatment, because of the complications, that she will be so, so sick. She is a very tiny girl, pretty much skin stretched over bone right now. Still don't know about the specialist, as my daughter was probably dead asleep so couldn't call. Twice last week, she slept through the entire day, waking up to start her day at 7 PM one day and 10 PM another. > > Your daughter sounds a lot like me, only much younger! I'm 63 and have had Hep C for 30+ years. I have no spleen, have had very severe gastric varices (almost died then), have had 3 " ERCP " procedures where they put a shunt in my bial duct between the liver and kidney I believe. Nothing has occured with my small intestines. After 3 separate year long HCV treatments and no long term success, I got a cancerous tumor on my liver. They performed a " chemoembolization " on me (You may need to Google some of these terms!), and finally received a liver transplant in September of '08. Many of us on this forum have been to " hell " and back, and are still here fighting away. And we are mostly happy, too! Always remember that most of us heppers die with the disease, and not because of it. If your daughter is still involved with drugs and alcohol, she is severely compromising her chances for a bright future. She must get sober and clean immediately, as those of us here have had to do. With great advances in research and upcoming medicines, as well as the high success rate for us transplant recipients, I feel that your daughter has a very good chance for a normal future. Taking care of oneself is most important, from diet to sleep to exercise. When you see your new liver specialist, make sure you bring paper and pen to take lots of notes! Your daughter will need a liver biopsy to accurately determine the condition of her liver and how seriously she has been affected. This is a long, sometimes scary process for both of you. The folks on this forum are the best and most knowledgeable. Continue to do research on the internet. Here is a good start: http://www.liverfoundation.org/education/info/Hepatitis C/ > > Cheer up, as this is not a death sentence. Guest guest
It takes time for the body to heal. I am an x iv user and have been clean for 5 yrs. I was on the methadone program and could never gain weight. For some reason it takes heroin addicts longer to gain weight for some of us. That's just me. I will keep your family in my prayers. ________________________________ From: <anokireilley@...> Hepatitis C Sent: Tue, February 23, 2010 5:29:48 AM Subject: Re: My Daughter Thank you so very much for your supportive e-mail. Your daughter will need a liver biopsy to accurately determine the condition of her liver and how seriously she has been affected. This is a long, sometimes scary process for both of you. Guest guest
hang in there , hey it is nothing as bad as dope sick!!! love ya keep that in mind everyday. That is what I did, prayed alot kept my sponser on speed dial and vented and ranted a few times about my husband i wanted to kill while I was on tx. ( I was also postpartum 3 months the hormones, the tx blah blah ) I came out on the other side still standing. Not wobbling. Back to working full time and teaching nurse aides which is something I dearly love. God bless and take care of you!!!! Re: My Daughter Thank you so very much for your supportive e-mail. Guest guest
, my heart goes out to you. My sister in law who passed last year also had trouble with high ammonia levels. I am taking a liquid prescribed by the doctor for clarity among other things. Not sure it's working. Your daughter needs all our prayers and support. I know it's hard, but our Lord will give you strength to get through this. Jackie From: <anokireilley@...> Subject: My Daughter Hepatitis C Date: Thursday, March 4, 2010, 7:38 AM  My daughter was admitted to the hospital on Tues. for high ammonia. She is still there. Come to find out, she is also pregnant. Of course, I am scared to death because of her Hep C, being on methadone, and her ammonia toxicity. I cannot stop visualizing that little baby with so much poison flowing through it's veins.
