Sun exposure during chelation

I am noticing that Mickie seems to enjoy sitting in the sun. Even thought the

porch has chair in the shade, he always choses the one being hit by the sun.

I'm worried about this. Is this dangerous during the on days of chelation?

Some metal can be sweated out. Heat is a treatment that works, though it

appears to be slow and limited. Andy has said that miners are basically put in

a sauna (or something similar) when they get metal poisoning as a means to cope

with it. I find that sometimes sweating helps alleviate the side effects of

metal moving. If he isn't showing any kind of negative symptoms, I would not

worry about it. If he does it a lot, you might try to push fluids and salt and

other electrolytes to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated or develop and

electrolyte imbalance from sweating a lot. Organic potato chips and a glass of

OJ can go a long way towards staving off such problems.

As someone else said, sunlight is needed to produce vitamin D. I would add that

some microbes don't fare well in sunlight (and others grow if exposed to it --

chicken pox gets worse in sunlight). He may be self-treating for a low-grade,

unrecognized infection that his body is more able to identify and combat now

that the metal poisoning is being treated.

I haven't noticed any negative results from him sitting in the sun, other

then he gets really hot and he has a really good tan. :)

I did move the big chair (his favorite) to the middle of the porch so he

doesn't get as much sun as before, and I do keep him hydrated, but I'll keep

on eye on anything negative that shows up. I do feel better now.

Thank you very much,

Z
