Guest guest
3 words........... Charcoal.........charcoal..............charcoal Makes a huge difference with my son....I give it a few hours after the last dose and continue for a couple days after.....No more issues at all............. From: mrboysmom <misterboysmom@...> Subject: [ ] First few days after round are hard. Date: Tuesday, December 21, 2010, 12:33 AM Â The first 4 or 5 days after a round are difficult. He has increased heartburn and stomach aches, and behavior issues. Then he mellows out and we see the increased speech, the new words, the happy boy who dances down the halls and now sings along to his favorite songs (real words, not just humming!) Are the first few days after a round hard on your kids, too? What might I do to make it easier? Finished round #7 ALA 25mg, every 3 hours by the clock, around the clock, every other weekend. Guest guest
I think charcoal causes constipation and that is a big issue for him. Constipation causes head banging. Maybe I need to try pectin, I have heard about using it but actually don't know where to buy it. Guest guest
We've used apple pectin. I've used it for rough days after a round, when we go on a serious yeast attack I give it a few hours after the anti-fungal, and sometimes if he's just really " off " charcoal seems to clear him a bit. I don't use it on a regular basis but have used it for 2 or 3 days in a row and not had constipation issues. You could use something like mag citrate, which is known to soften stool when using pectin. For my son, an epsom salt bath gets him going. He goes like clock work so if one day goes by and he doesn't have a BM, I usually give him a good soak in the tub with some epsom salts and he goes within minutes of getting out of the tub Kerrie In a message dated 12/21/2010 10:08:54 A.M. Guest guest
The dose is too high. Find the dose where side effects are manageable and only go on for ONE day after the round.
