Guest guest
Hi- The only side effect I got from sulfa was the same that I get from an iodine injection, like fire ants under my skin. I didnt get hives or anything. I can take glucosamine sulfate though but not in large doses. MTX wipes me out. I mean nausea and fatigue/flu like symtoms and I sleep for 12-15 hours. Its terrible. I lose two days. Still I stay with it. I take a big multi vitamin and folate which helps. I have low pressure myself and find that my fingers are numb and cold most of the time. I take a heating pad and warm them up, my feet too. I take ibuprofen for pain. I tried voltaren and couldnt take it. Nauseous. I take serrapeptase which you dont need a prescription for and it helps with just about everything. www.serrapeptase.info. Guest guest
, After the plaquenil stopped working for me, for many years I was on sulfasalazine and aspirin therapy with prednisone. The sz was a.m. & p.m., and because I used the non-generic, coated tabs, I didn't experience any of the side effects. It worked great for me until it stopped working, too, but it was one of the longer-lasting dmards I used early in my disease. The aspirin therapy was a bit more problematic. I would buy generic enteric coated aspirin by the 1000 bottle, because I was on 3 tabs at least 3x/day. As you can imagine, I eventually developed stomach problems, and was frustrated as all #@$%! when I went to the doc and he said I just had " prom anxiety " (this was when I was in high school) and that I should make friends with Malox. Fortunately he was a sub at the clinic, so when I went back to my regular doc, I moved on to a different nsaid. I eventually landed on Oruvail which is a kind of 24-hour slow release ketoprophen and it worked GREAT! I loved that stuff and was sad when my insurance changed and I couldn't get it any more. I'm now using piroxicam which is ok, but not as stellar as the other. With the aspirin therapy I had to watch what I ate--colas, coffee, and the like would really upset my stomach. And you have to be sure to take food with the aspirin. As least I didn't have to worry about my " diet " at that time--the prednisone took care of that for me!
