Guest guest
Hi, I have just been put on MTX after about 18mo of therapy on Plaquenil and mobic. The plaquenil worked wonderfully for me with no side effects other than skin irratation, but would get pretty severe on my face so we stopped that and I know have been put on MTX pills, along with folic acid and still continuing my mobic. I just started the MTX last week and was told to take it with my dinner to lessen any stomach upset. I did this and sure enough about 2hr after taking them I was still nausiated so badly for about an hour or so. Terribly nausiated. I was also extremely tired the next day...and " coincidenatally " I came down with what we think was the flu the very next day as well and I'm just now back to feeling better and am due to take my next dose on Tuesday. I'm little nervous about taking them again. Deep down I fear they brought on my sickness this week but I know that probably sounds silly. I'm wondering though if that nausea is normal or I think I've heard that the injections are easier on the tummy; any suggestions? Thanks - It's Girl Scout Cookie Time Taking orders NOW! Guest guest
For now, I'd try taking 1/2 dose and then 12 hours later the other 1/2 of the dose. My rheumy suggested that and it worked beautifully. Also try taking it with food. , adult onset RA, mom to Rob, 16, juvenile ankylosing spondylitis On Thu, 12 Jan 2006 16:44:02 -0000 "i_live_in_slippers" <bart.tracy@...> writes: Hi, I have just been put on MTX after about 18mo of therapy on Plaquenil and mobic.
