I do simple muscle testing. See " Your Body Doesn't Lie " by Diamond, MD, for

examples. I do body/energy work and had before all this, then our NAET therapist

showed me what to do.

everything else (organic, nonGMO, chemical free) is a choice. He takes a few

supps, not many. We still chelate, and we started homeopathy about 4 months ago,

and continue with that.

Well, that's where we are struggling to find help. We had a terrible time

finding anyone who would work with him on that, because he also had an ASD. We

were on a waiting list for a specialist for 2 years, and they went out of

business. We have a psychological (master's degree) therapist who works with our

child at home once a week (through the services we get for autism), but it's not

been very effective.

Things have been improving over the years. I've been following the principles

from Levine who wrote a book called " Waking the Tiger, Healing the

Trauma " . He also has a related book specifically about childhood trauma. It is

about the somatic experience of trauma, and how to help your child work through

it, not suppress it. I've learned a lot from these books. At one point I decided

to help ourselves like we did with ASD, and went online and started asking

adults what worked for their PTSD, and other parents what had helped their kids.

This was the book that everyone was recommending.

CST, art therapy, therapeutic play, adrenal support, Bach Flower remedies,

changing our lives to support his healing so that he learns to what it feels

like to function for periods of time w/o being overwhelmed by stress and

fight/flight, to feel safe - (homeschool) has done wonders for him.

I have a PhD who oversaw his autism behavioral therapies helping me find a good

behavioral medicine psychologist who specializes in PTSD who will work with us.

I find a lot of it has to do with how I handle things and teaching him awareness

of his physiological responses when his fear/anxiety is triggered and he panics

or has a flashback type response. Instead of trying to soothe him, I let him let

it out, and just be there for comfort and support while he goes through it, and

then being attentive and with him while he talks endlessly about his

fear/anxiety after the trigger and then facilitating his playing it out, drawing

or painting or expressing anger appropriately and gently guiding him to realize

the difference between what he thinks, what he feels, and what his body response

is.

We use lubriderm. We put it on his back usually, but sometimes his tummy, or

legs.

I don't wear gloves, but if you have amalgams you should.

It's not easier than oral, or better. Oral chelation is better.

We do it because we are unable to do oral chelation with our younger boy. He

also will not use a spoon or fork.

It's slower, but he is making progress. Hopefully he will make enough progress

that we can start oral and add DMSA.

TJ

with TD ALA, what lotion do you mix it with ? where in your son's body do you

rub in the lotion ? and do you wear gloves, to keep from absorbing it yourself ?

I have amalgams and know I wouldn't want to be getting the chelator while my DD

is, but TD sounds maybe easier than oral for some kids.

thanks !!
