Guest guest
We've had success using carnosine for my DD for the past few weeks and are giving 200 mg twice daily, which is the limit that I've seen posted here by Andy for children in the 40 - 50 lb range. Does anyone have further recommendations for dosing carnosine by body weight? What negatives do people notice with this supplement if any? Have negatives gone away after stopping the supplement? For my DD, she seems less emotional, less impulsive and more even in her moods since using this. The effect is mild but noticeable by a few of us around her, so I'm tempted to try more. Any advice? Guest guest
Hi, I don't know the answer to your questions, but I do know carnosine does build up and you have to take breaks from supplementing it periodically. Personally, I would be cautious about supplementing any amino acid in a high amount. I was giving my son the same amount as you are now (with zinc) for about two months (for speech), then I stopped to try Vinpocetine. I didn't see any ill effects from stopping the Carnosine, but I did see really great effects from starting the Vinpocetine afterward (speech wise/conversational), have no idea if it is related. Guest guest
These are the research articles by Dr. Chez on l-carnosine. They should help you.  My son has been on l-carnosine for a long time now. No aderse side effects and we did see a language boost when we started it.  Best wishes for improved health.
