Guest guest Posted February 5, 2007 Report Share Posted February 5, 2007 Dear Robin, I had been mis-diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia myself, which was one of the most painful times that I had ever experienced. I had suspected that it was related to my teeth, but several dentists and root canal specialists took x-rays and ruled out any dental involvement. They referred me to a Neurologist, which said that I described the classic case of Trigeminal Neuralgia and so that became my new label. They gave me a certain medication to take on a daily basis, which was made for patients with MS. Although it numbed my nerves and took the pain away, I refused to continue to take them and I refused their diagnosis. It just didn't make any sense to me. I work too hard at trying to be healthy for something like this to just hit me out of nowhere. So, one night I took a tiny mirror and placed it in my mouth and stood across another mirror and began examining my own teeth. I noticed the tiniest black dot on the very bottom of a wisdom tooth which was covered by a cap. I began to tap that tooth with a metal pick and the pain got triggered again. The next day I went back to the root canal specialist and told him that I think that we was wrong or that he had missed something. With a frown on his face, he took another x-ray, enlarged the x-ray on his computer screen and then he was able to see the tiniest little infection on the bottom of that wisdom tooth, which had hit the main nerve going across my jaw, which is referred to as the main power line. I had the wisdom tooth extracted and the horrific pain was forever gone. So, please make sure that your client is persistent with following up on dental work and not always accepting the diagnosis. Anyway, what helped me were two cell salts - mag phos for low grade pain and silica for the lightning bolt spasms. You can send the frequencies on the SCIO/QX. Work on the spinal page and really try to open up all the cervical vertebrae. It's all down my arm starting in C7 I think, going under the arm down into my fingers. It's been like this for a few weeks after I had a bout of the norovirus. I wonder if there is a connection. I've been using cranio-sacral (Upledger format) to a 50 year old female who had it begin right at her 50'th. Merck Manual says that's who gets it, but I can find no reference as to the "natural course" or treatment protocols for it. Recommendations? Thanks. Guest guest Posted August 30, 2009 Report Share Posted August 30, 2009 Has anyone had a bad case of trigeminal neuralgia on one side of the face, below the ear lobe on the jawbone? It just came out of nowhere a week or so ago, and sometimes when I eat or chew the stabbing pains are excrutiating. it feels like electrical shock big time pain. When it goes away my jaw and all around that area is still sore and still aches. I been doing some research on the net and could it be the MS attacking the 5th cranial nerve? I don't know what I did, but I never have had anything like this before in my 20 years of MS.
