Guest guest
Hi , I think it is pertinent to have a competent neurologist on board. I just wanted to let you know that I do Neurobiofeedback in my office. It was primarily developed for recovery from stroke, epilectic seizure disorders, brain trauma and ADD/ADHD. My uncle Kris DC in Hermiston, Oregon is also running the Neurobiofeedback program in his office. They had a young child with 15 seizures PER DAY! Within several treatment sessions, they had him down to 1 seizure every 10 days. The treatment is curative and permanent. Guest guest
, Well, basically you attach eeg leads to the scalp based on the 10/20 system and the computer reads the raw eeg signal and splits it up into three different frequencies depending upon what protocol you are training the brain for. i.e. reward 12-15 hz (SMR) or 15-18 hz (BETA) and inhibit 4-7 hz (alpha/theta). The software provides both audio and visual input back to the brain in the form of a computer game i.e. packman or spacerace, etc. The client sits in front of a computer screen and simply watches or observes his brain play the game. The theory is that the software along with the clinician monitoring the session helps the brain form new pathways around the damaged areas of the brain. 20-40 sessions are necessary to begin to see permanent change. check out the following website for more detailed info and scientific papers: www.eegspectrum.com I would be happy to have any of you come in for a demo in my office. combine this therapy with nutrition and thorough chiropractic care and your patient will have amazing results Hope this helps, allen >From: " Dr. Freeman " <drmfreeman@...> >Reply- " Dr. Freeman " <drmfreeman@...> >< > >Subject: Re: re: seizure disorder >Date: Sun, 10 Mar 2002 11:33:30 -0800 > >, >Can you tell us a little more about this treatment? Guest guest
Neurofeedback is a great tool to identify chronic pain patterns before they emerge as subluxation, and to stabilize your adjustments after the subluxation is corrected. Biofeedback meshes nicely with proprioceptive retraining because it gives objective immediate feedback to the patient and the doctor about the patient's ability to modulate the nervous system. Think of it like an automobile dashboard for the body. Modalities most useful to augment sympathetic system dominance will be theta wave inhibition with EEG neurofeedback, respiratory sinus arrhythmia training with capnometry/oximetry feedback, muscular dysponetic armoring retraining with EMG biofeedback, vascular relaxation training for migraines with thermal biofeedback. If you are interested in a broad overview of these techniques we could arrange a Saturday at my office to acquaint you with the technology and its applications. Of course there would be no fee if you were polite guests. I am board certified in this area and have had the good fortune to receive apprenticeships with Lubar, PhD and Peper, PhD. Those of you who are fans of The Reward Deficiency Theory will note Lubar is listed as a reference in the EEG material. Guest guest
My friends 8 year old daughter developed seizure disorder 3 years ago and now it is no longer controlled with anticonvulsants. I wonder if anyone on the group is treating epilepsy with LDN and if so, what is your experience. Also is there any place I can find more info to forward to my friend? Thank you, Haleh
