Here is a good webpage that breaks it down...

http://livingnetwork.co.za/chelationnetwork/food/sulfates_sulfation_feingold/

The main page is

http://livingnetwork.co.za/chelationnetwork/

Read

Everything under liver pathways and food considerations....

especially the sulfation pathway...this will give you a good understanding of

what is going on in phenol sensitive kids....

Hope this helps

Subject: [ ] OT-CROSSPOST-back to diet,basics?

After 6 years doing bio med I am back considering a diet for my child. We did

GFCF for 3 years and then tried SCD.I feel GFCF heled heal his GI tract

somewhat,SCD did not go over well and he was unresponsive. However,I am thinking

he may need Feingold to help reduce or eliminate phenols etc...

Problem-He is 8 yo now,has a little NT sibling and he spends time at his Dad's

place who may not fully co operate with any limitations b/c he does not believe

in this sort of intervention.

I was looking at the fruits that are forbidden on the diet and was wondering for

starters what fruits' can out kids' HAVE when on Feingold? Also what bread?I

understand you eliminate artificial colors, processed foods etc...

Any guidance is greatly appreciated! jake's MOM :)

You might consider low fenol diet for now. It might resolve some issues but will

never heal your son. What helped my son with bad phenol problem - chelation with

ALA only for 1 year and molybdenum. Now he can eat any fruits and veggies

without any troubles.
