LOL... You knew exactly what I was going to do...up his dosage of SNT .  Now

that we did NAET and homeopath he isn't as sensitive as he use to be about

stuff.  I definitely have peace about doing the ALA alone first.  Thanks for

the advice!!!

Thanks

Mari

Hi Mari,

Does the SNT have minerals? A multi-mineral is a good idea, as well as extra

zinc. Vitamin C, E and D3 are also part of my arsenal. I would not increase the

SNT dose, but instead add individual supplements. That is just me. Try to get 1g

(1000 mg) essential fatty acids per day or more (EPA/DHA).

I can't answer your question about using DMSA if your son cannot take sulfur

meds (I assume that means some antibiotics? ). I am only guessing there is a

difference between a sulfa allergy and a sulfur allergy.

What to expect? That will be an individual process. I can tell you what you

don't want to see: agitation, aggression, regression. There should be no

regressions at all; if there are then you need to evaluate what you are doing

and make changes. Progress could come in waves. You chelate until you no longer

see any symptoms of Autism, and then chelate 6 months longer! Sorry to be so

vague. Expect to do this for a few years.

ALA is best given every 3 hours. You *can* stretch it to 4 hours at night. I do.

ALA is all that is needed to rid the brain of heavy metals, but many do use

another chelator. If you cannot, that is fine. It is questionable if ALA

chelates lead, though (DMSA for that).

What dose are you planning on using? With a 62 lb child (like mine), I now use

25mgs ALA, but I started with 10 mgs. I worked it up quickly since my son isn't

a sensitive kid.

good luck to you. At first it all seems overwhelming. I guarantee that will

pass.
