Update on Muscle Spasms in Back

Hi Group!

Hope everyone is doing well! Just wanted to give a quick update on the

muscle spasms I was experiencing in my back. I received a number of

suggestions to increase my magnesium intake, since it turns out to be

quite common for MS patients to be deficient in magnesium. After doing

some research and finding out that magnesium plays a part in multiple

body functions and seeing that my multi-vitamin doesn't even come close

to what I need, I got both a Calcium/Magnesium/Vit D supplement and an

additional 250 mg Magnesium supplement and began taking them with my

nightly vitamin/LDN ritual. There were a number of things on the list

of symptoms of Magnesium Deficiency that I've experienced, including a

slightly rapid heart beat at times, that it made the most sense to start

with that. And in the 8 or 9 days I've increased my magnesium intake,

the back spasms have gone away - in fact they went away the first night!

For the past week, I've woken up every morning with no back pain

what-so-ever. Though this morning it was bothering me a little, I can't

remember the last time in the last year that I went a week without a

sore back in the morning. Hopefully this last week wasn't a fluke and

the issues with my back will continue to improve. I've read that MS

patients need about 400 mg of magnesium a day. Between all my vitamins,

I'm getting about 340 mgs and the rest comes from food. In Calcium, I'm

getting like 600 mgs from supplements. Is it possible I'll need to

increase the magnesium to keep receiving the benefits? Thanks again to

the group for all the help! Your advice is seriously invaluable!!
