Guest guest
To readers from all over the world. Australia is considering revamping at least some of its health care system The problems are the same world wide, technical advances, aging populations and greater demand on services. It is hard to imagine any country being able to meet the health care expectations of everyone. If this can't be done, rationing will be needed, and if this happens, what criteria will be used?NanFrom: Margaret Schooling <mschooling@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Wednesday, 29 July, 2009 5:45:56 PMSubject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Page numbers of the healthcare bill you may want to read As I see it, while I agree that this subject is on the face of it off-topic, at the same time any major health care reform could potentially, somehow, affect the future of ldn and our access to it one way or another. This is particularly true of the US because of the massive influence it has globally. Off Topic, but for some of us outside the US very interesting if only because it’s allowed us to glimpse an influential mindset we don’t come across first hand every day.. That mindset gives other health systems political labels and holds them up as examples of systems that don’t work, regardless of how well they work and are appreciated by the people who use them. As a grateful user of the French system I think it’s reasonable to respond to such misconceptions. I've made no public comment on the US system because I've never used it and really don't understand it. Surely, on a forum used internationally it's not too much to expect the same respect for non-US systems. More On Topic, any system will have flaws, weak points. No system will ever work perfectly. But surely just about any health care system will work better if it’s organised and managed primarily in the interests of everyone who's in need of health care. And isn’t that aim the essence of what ldn and this forum are all about? To me it seems as far off topic as numerous other things which have arisen on here and had people complain about as being off topic! I can understand some of you may be concerned about the POTENTIAL impact IF it goes ahead but I can't see any DIRECT link with LDN, especially for all the people on this low dose naltrexone group who don't reside in the US.
