Guest guest
That is a good website. He does have short stature. His dad and I are both 5'5. Both of his other son's and my son are both taller. The pediatricians never seem to notice much of anything. I keep finding little bits of info. here and there and find out what I need referals for. I am having to wait on the PCP to give a referal to the endocrinology clinic now. Seems like if the urologist wants him to go there he could just give the okay. April > But, my reason for posting here is the preservative issue. If anyone is familar with the other issues I would be interested to hear from you as well. It is not a topic with a lot of info. out there like autism. I feel lost. > > Thanks, > > April > > >
Guest guest
Doctors sometimes say that a child is shorter than his peers but this is normal because his parents are short. This isn't always the case. You and/or your husband could have undiagnosed growth hormone deficiency (GHD). GHD has health implications for adults as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Growth_hormone_deficiency As you can see from the Magic Foundation web site, there are many syndromes in which the child can have short stature as a symptom. Don't get overwhelmed. Give the Magic Foundation a call and tell them your story. It was founded by a family whose son has GHD. s is very hands on and runs an organization which helps children and their families navigate this maze. Once your son is under the care of the Ped Endo, he will probably be more proactive. Not all short stature is caused by GHD and therefore does not respond to GH therapy. But there are other causes and other treatment options. Whatever the cause, he needs a diagnosis and treatment now to help him catch up to a more normal growth curve and to address the other medical issues associated with the diagnosis. Feel free to e-mail me if you'd like more information. > > That is a good website. He does have short stature. His dad and I are both 5'5. Both of his other son's and my son are both taller.
