Guest guest
I have a son in medical school and we have had more vaccine battles in this house than you could ever believe. He is totally for vaccines and has been taught " the good of the whole " theory, where there will be some casualties and believes everything the CDC says. I on the other hand believe something opposite. If the CDC says it, I wonder about the validity. Â What about the dangers of aluminum? Guest guest
I have thought a lot about this issue.  In the beginning, when we were first realizing the full magnitutude of what was really going on with our two boys I came across two women in particular that told me two ideas/thoughts that were completely forgein to me.  1. Remove dairy as soon as possible. 2. Stop vaccinating.  For each of these conversations I had with these two COURAGEOUS women (over two years ago now) I had no idea WHY they were telling me this! It just didn't make sense to me at all. But it got me thinking... and reading... and questioning... and eventually created huge changes in our lives (all for the better).  So my point is, you never know who is quietly listening, even if you never speak again. I personally have elvoved a GREAT distance in my thinking regarding issues on my children's health... and neither of these women even know this fact because they were essentially strangers to me... but they were people who made a great impact on my family.  So you never know who you may touch with your words. We all must keep trying because it may make a difference in a child's life... for those who are quietly taking it all in. Guest guest
I just kept my mouth shut while my medical resident (pediatrics) brother in law and medical resident (peds psych) wife vaccinated their newborn son in September. He has not been the easiest baby; lots of crying and colic. I've gone through the arguments in years past with my brother-in-law (trained epidemiologist, too), especially when he wrote a paper recommending increasing the chicken pox vaccines after vaccinated kids started getting the disease. It is damned hard to argue science with a science guy when you are not a science girl! Sad. Ironically, this bro in law received a smallpox vaccine back in the 1990s (after 9-11) and had a bad reaction. He is careful about what vaccines he receives and fully understands why they carry risks; just not the risks I talk about. I think that Dad is being a bit dramatic. He can do something about what he has done, and in the least he can start educating himself to avoid succumbing to vaccine pressure in the future. If he turned on vaccines by reading 1 article he will likely turn back to 'pro' vaccine if given a 'pro vaccine' article. He needs to start researching to form a solid opinion. If he is receptive, start forwarding more info ASAP. Include info on limiting the damage already done. Are his kids " neurotypical " or is he seeing issues and now wondering if they are vaccine related? You are a good friend to worry and feel guilty, but you cannot predict what people will and how they will react. Now that you have been involved, go for it! Guest guest
Your story fits well with my point that speaking up usually doesn't get short term results. In other words, if someone expects people to act immediately, then thank them, etc., the odds are poor of it going like that. You may get people thinking and there is merit to that. But the odds of stopping someone from vaccinating by speaking up just prior to a doctor's appointment are poor. Again: It takes time to educate people. Most of the time, putting the information out there with as little drama as possible so people can think about it without having to initially " take a stand " one way or the other is usually the best way to give controversial info a chance to take root and sprout. And, just in case I wasn't clear enough, part of my point is that I see no reason for someone to feel guilty about failing to stop something like this. Vaccinating is the norm for this culture: most people do it and it is strongly encouraged by the federal government, medical establishment, etc. That's huge. The power differential is much greater than " and Goliath " . If you make headway here and there, wonderful. But I would encourage people to count their successes and be forgiving with themselves for their 'failures'. Also, sometimes people just don't see it until it is " obvious " -- ie until something goes terribly, horribly wrong. I had to nearly die to a get useful diagnosis and finally get taken seriously by doctors after a lifetime of being treated like a whiner and hypochondriac. I can't say that I regret the suffering involved in nearly dying because it saved my life and gave me a much better quality of life than I had ever had. My life had been one frustration after another and filled with a tremendous sense of failure over all the things I felt I 'should' be able to do but never managed. If someone finally has seen the light, even though it is from the depths of despair, that's a good thing. Carry on with helping them get their kids well and overlook whatever had to happen for them to get there. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
Liz, You are a very compassionate person, but it is not your job to save the people that aren't ready for it. Can I suggest saving others by saving your own kids and being the example. When our kids were diagnosed it was 4 in 10,0000. Now it is 1 in 150. By numbers they can't be ignored and progress is being made. Kids are recovering. I don't fear as much for the kids that become autistic now as it was for my son when no one knew what was going on, and very few cared. I have a very close friend who just had a baby girl and happens to be single and nineteen. She is very dear to me as I had my son almost 15 years ago when I was 22, single, and scared to death. I wanted to tell her don't vaccinate, but I knew her perdiatrician would just tell her there is nothing to worry about, there are no reputable studies linking autism and vaccinations. I knew I would not hold as much water as her pediatrician. Instead I told her, " don't vaccinate if Edie is sick. Don't do it if you even think she might be coming down with something. It's okay if she gets them later than on schedule because she will never be exposed to the diseases she is being vcaccinated for anyway. Don't let your pediatrician make you feel bad if you are late getting her a vaccination or if you don't want her to get them all on the same day. It really is okay to delay them. It's not worth the risk. " She is a strong girl, but very few are strong enough to go against a pediatrician with a waiting room full of screaming infants on a schedule. I think telling her it is okay to delay will go over better than it is okay to go 100% against main stream medicine. McCarthy says she is not against vaccinations, she is against vaccinating everyone across the board without trying to figure out why some kids react adversely. Guest guest
My parents hosted the neighborhood New Years eve party. Was in for a visit on Sunday. Mom gave me the updated on everyone, grew up in the neighborhood, almost all the same people. One has come down with Alzheimer's, mom said it's getting really bad. My mom, I tell her what all I'm doing for the boys, she sees the difference. She didn't get the swine flu shot but they both get the reg flu shot. I keep telling them the increase in autism and Alzheimer's is due to vaccines. Get your dose of mercury get Alzheimer's even sooner. She thinks twice but continues. Another friend, back in the mid 70's, had a bad reaction to the swine flu vaccine and claims she was sick the remaining winter and took months to feel better so she didn't do it this time. Can not remember if she got her flu one or not. But I tell her about the mercury in vaccines, just watch, the increase in Alzheimer's and autism, our young and our old have issues. There is a connection. Here's the kicker, her son and daughter in law are both pharmacies. They also don't get the flu shots but do vaccinate their kids. I told her I was amazed that they did. Anyway....I'm not surprised either way but hopefully gets her thinking. When customers ask me if I get a flu shot, I say I'm not injecting any mercury or toxins directly into my blood steam. Until vaccines are safe, NO WAY! I want to play in the dirt more and plant a garden this year. Still debating the tetanus shot. Hate it! Guest guest
I am no doctor but what I understand is that when you give antibiotics it reduces inflammation in the gut and brain.  This causes a temporary gain.  Nobody can stay on antibiotics forever or it will kill the immunities.  The good bacteria get killed when one takes antibiotics.  This allows the bad bacteria to thrive.  When the antibiotics are finished the person taking them is actually worse off than before because they have depleted the good bacteria from the intestines.FWIW,Margaret From: S <webshopping2009@...> Subject: [ ] Re: That's it, I'm not being shy anymore Date: Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 4:56 AM  Thanks for feeling icky for the rest of us My question is-once you have made the mistakes and kids are getting allergies and lots of antibiotics- how do you come back from that? Guest guest
I took a lot of antibiotics and other drugs for a few years. I came back by working on healing the gut and removing toxic stuff from my home. It took time but it can be done. For me, probiotics, lettuce, working on PH balance, good quality sea salt, glyconutrients and the right oils did wonders. It took several years to undo decades of damage. Presumably if there is less damage, it can be done in less time than that. I've gotten well without a doctor. Yes, we spent plenty. But there were a lot of things we did relatively cheaply or we couldn't have done it at all. Good luck with this. Guest guest
I would look into PANDAS? Treat, test? On your own you could do an antiviral protocol and look into a low histamine diet. I think lots of probiotics and doing digestive enzymes with meals is just a great way to heal the tummy. Tammy [ ] Re: That's it, I'm not being shy anymore Thanks for feeling icky for the rest of us My question is-once you have made the mistakes and kids are getting allergies and lots of antibiotics- how do you come back from that? Quite frankly, all the biomed stuff is soooo time consuming- I'm exhausted! My son has been doing better for about 6 months- now all of a sudden he his twirling his hair and humming and stimming like he did then. How deflating! I'm like whats the flippin' point!? If nothing you do ever makes any permanent gains- why kill yourself and spend all the money? Thousands of dollars later- $80 bucks an hour for ABA therapy 10 hours a week, speech, group ABA, SPECT scan, vitamins, DAN dr's aren't cheap-all my gray hair whew!! sorry My son appears to get better after antibiotics and Tamiflu- but then you worry constantly that maybe now he has allergies because I gave him antibiotics because we saw cognitive gains for a while and then poof! um wht happened? He doesn't seem sick- why is he regressing!? Any body with advice besides shut up and stop whining? ANybody?Anybody? Thanks, SHannon > > I feel like crap tonight. My husband's friend's kid just got 2 flu vaccines, MMR, DTaP all at once last week. Then he read a paper I wrote about aluminum and posted on my facebook page a day or two after his kid got the vaccines and told my husband there was no reason to live anymore. He felt awful. Not to mention, the paper didn't even touch the subject of mercury - which his 4 year old most likely got TWO full doses in the regular flu vax and the swine flu vax he got. > > I know it's not my fault but dang, we were just over there the day before they were talking about bringing the kids to the doctor. These were yeast symptoms here, but can also be bacteria symptoms. > My son appears to get better after antibiotics Try giving daily OLE. Guest guest
You only need the tetanus shot if you have animals on your property, i.e. horses and cows. Tetanus is in animal feces, etc. which is why it was widely recommended when this country was mostly agricultural. You're not going to get it from a nail on a city concrete sidewalk. Guest guest
I've heard since we are going to have dirt moved in and the acreage we live on was a part of a farm. What about all the wild life in the country? I guess I'll research and think.....It's been years since I've had one. I love playing in the dirt and after building, now this year I'll have time to start things up. Guest guest
Tammy, I think the tetanus shots actually last a lot longer than they used to think.. you don’t need boosters every 10 years like they used to (and still sometimes) say. Good wound care goes a long way too. Guest guest
I do have two questions... 1. Has anyone tried Epicor to reset the immune system of their child? When I read about this, I thought it might be good to add to the protocol. 2. We've been trying to get our son (22) back on taking his supps as his main problems now are ocd thoughts), actions/voices around him greatly bother him, and anxiety (pretty bad). The reason he hasn't been taking them, is he got the linden method which tells him to 'not see doctors', 'don't read any medical information', 'you don't need any supps', all of the ocd and anxiety is because your amygdala is in high stress and you need a hobby to occupy your mind to bring down the stress level. I am sure he has organic problems/issues and am pressuring him to again take supplements. My game plan is to get him on mms (jim humble's mms), lithium, minerals, whole b vitamins, fish oil, Epicor to start. We've overwhelmed him in the past with other protocols, so we want to keep it simple. Does anyone have any other suggestions, such as ALA? He doesn't have any fillings in his teeth. We learned long ago to keep our kids away from the dentist (at least we did one thing right) Please share your thoughts as I want to put him on the best possible supplements for his current issues. Guest guest
Have you tested for strep to see if that may be feeding the OCD? > > I do have two questions... > 1. Guest guest
I've used Epicor, and for my son I think he reacted not so well to it. My son is high on all the yeasts on IGG test, and my doc said it wouldn't be a factor with this type of yeast in Epicor, but my son didn't do well with it, and we stopped using it. It wasn't any severe reactions, just food allergy type reaction. For my daughter's screwed up immune system, I used good old clostrum. I guess many people don't think it is that effective, but my daughter had rashes, itching, her fingers and toes were split and bleeding etc. My regular pediatrician suggested IGIV, and I decided to try the colostrum instead. She got a low grade fever and all her symptoms faded. Anyway, I'm just a mom, no expert, but this was my experience with tricky immune systems. OCD problems and amygdala kinda says PANDAS to me. My daughter with the screwed up immune system has this. You may want to read up on PANDAS a little. ________________________________ From: LinLasVegas <LinLasVegas@...> Sent: Wed, January 6, 2010 8:25:23 AM Subject: [ ] Re: That's it, I'm not being shy anymore I do have two questions... 1. Guest guest
I had ordered Epicor as an immune booster before but it didn't muscle-test well for anyone in my family. > 2. We've been trying to get our son (22) back on taking his supps as his > main problems now are ocd thoughts, actions/voices around him greatly > bother him, and anxiety (pretty bad). > Sounds like viral/bacteria issues causing endotoxins. > My game plan is to get him on mms (jim humble's mms), lithium, minerals, > whole b vitamins, fish oil, Epicor to start. I would suggest Olive Leaf Extract for both viral and antimicrobial effects and inositol. How is his thyroid? Some iodine-containing foods like kelp or some potassium iodide and selenium help support that. With the minerals you probably don't need iron or calcium. And give minerals with meals and away from the fish oils. Does he take digestive enzymes? Sometimes low stomach acid/poor digestion allows the bacteria to flourish. The sound sensitivity and anxiety would have been yeast overgrowth here. OCD was caused by a few things here, including yeast. Dana
