I think it is sad that you have made such a judgement after only one visit to the chiropractor. Do you judge other doctors so harshly? Depending on your problem, you could require more than one visit to feel better. Do you expect to take one pill from a prescription and feel all better? Why didn't you go back to the chiropractor and tell him/her how you felt and see what they had to say?

I have been going to chiropractors since I was a teenager, as needed. Regular checkups by a chiropractor can help you avoid surgery later in life. Your back and spine are very important to your health and need to be taken care of. A good chiropractor will explain all of this to you and perhaps even give you literature to read about chiropractic care.

I have a curve in my neck, probably from car accidents, and chiropractic care has made the curve smaller. My chiropractor has x-rays showing the changes. I have two daughters that have scoliosis, so they have gotten chiropractic care as well. The curve in their spines have improved with chiropractic care. I have a friend who took her daughter with scoliosis to an orthopedic doctor and she wore a back brace for years. I think chiropractic care is a smarter choice. If you learn more about it, you will see that it makes sense.

My youngest daughter was born with congenital torticollis, which basically meant that she could not hold her head up as the muscles on one side of her neck were weak and not developed properly (this is how it was explained to me in 1997). The pediatrician said to gently massage the muscle daily and it should improve. It did, but not 100%. We started taking her to a chiropractor and after a few visits, the problem was completely corrected.

Most chiropractors believe in alternative medicine as most of us on this list do, which make them my doctor of choice!
