Hi , thanks for that.

The drug he's probably refering in Zambia is called Riamet here in

Switzerland, it's formed by another component of artemisia annua,

similar to artemisinin (of course, patented!). It's not sold in the

US, but I know someone who could import it.

Most studies are for malaria, not for babesiosis. And some forms of

malaria dont' have dormant stages, so clinical trials are short term.

I took Riamet for 3 days in December. My 4 months of night sweats

(almost daily) disappeared on the second day, I regained energy and

felt very well compared to what I was suffering before.

The problem is that Riamet is designed to kill the active form of

malaria, not dormant stages. I believe babesia has a dormant form.

Two weeks later, I started getting babesiosis symptoms back, in a

different form though.

So all these malaria studies help babesiosis patients a bit, but I

feel we need much longer treatment than malaria patients. And

babesiosis is not as 'killer' as malaria, that kills you in few

hours. But all drugs used for babesiosis are 'borrowed' from malaria

studies.

As for safety of artemisinin, yes, his book says it's pretty safe.

Again, according to malaria trials, short term. Many lymees have

reported very strong 'herxes' with artemisinin. Some say they feel

nothing, some say, reaction is quite strong. With Riamet, some say

the headaches they get feels like atomic bombs. Just my

own 'memories' from what I read in the forums.

What would be best is to have clinical trials with babesia patients.

That's just in dream, for the moment!

I loved artemisinin in the beginning, but stopped taking it after I

tried the high dose protocol (not really suggested by Buhner). I got

serious air hunger with it. Since then, my lungs felt strange until a

few days ago. It's one of my last symptoms that remained.

I had also good experiences with PC-Noni, it seems to deal with

cystic form, if I understood my naturopath well. I reacted very

strongly with it, even few drops. Never got any reaction to normal

Noni juice before though. It's been a while I don't take PC-Noni

anymore. It seems my babesia is disactivated, for the moment. Knock

on wood!

Just a few thoughts...
