Guest guest
Hey, Wallace, It is going to depend on your needs, and the skill level of the therapist. MLD is a wonderful thing for those who need it - women who have had breast cancer surgery and have lost lymph nodes, for example, or those who have had cellulitis and have experienced damage to lymphatic vessels. But in a case like this, the therapist would have quite a bit of advanced training. It is a specialized field within the profession. I do not have these skills - just a very cursory understanding. The MLD most schools teach to massage students is, I agree, not much. That's the stuff I know how to do. Some places would hire me, and advertise that I do MLD, based on the fact that I took an 8-hour class on it. This *may* be the case with the one you received. So, I'd go for the Swedish. We *all* learn that. But in the end it boils down to the education and skill of the therapist, and his/her ability to choose from a broad skill set in order to customize the best work for a particular client on a specific day. Have fun. D. " Wallace Kingston " <wpswallace@...> wrote: > > I have a choice between swedish massage or manual lyph drainage massage. > I have had MLD before and didnt think much of it.
