Hi Joan,

Scary. poor thing. Geez, I just saw DR B and now I am on a new schedule.

They recommend SIX 500 mg tablets/day for 21 days. Blasting those cysts I

guess. I've been on the dose you're on now and I am more down. Weird. No

patience, etc. I am sure now that it must be from flagyl since any effects

from HBOT have worn off. I can empathize with you if you feel crazy!

Love,

Helen

Joan,

Wow 1000 a day of flagyl??? Alot. I was on 250 mg a day and started getting

better - the brain fig lessened and I started talking on a 2nd grade level. I

am off it now and want to get back on. It worked for me but that is a lot.

Stay well - will let you know what happens. KIM

Dear Joan,

Did you speak with your LLMD about adjusting the flagyl doseage downward - if

this is a herx?

Also, what about tinidazole (sp?) - the European equivalent which is supposed

to have fewer side effects?

Yes Joan, Flaygl made me crazy after 4 weeks. i was on celexa at the

time and my doctor changed me to Paxil.. i cant explain, what happened

while i was on flaygl. just know i was really crazier than usual! i

cant remember all the problems because it was last summer. There is so

much of last year i dont remember. - its all so wierd. I stoped the

flaygl at the 5th week. i had already alienated most of my friends and

family by then. If i ever go back on it - at least i will know its

effect on me and can be more aware of my behavior.

Dear Joan,

Daughter has been on flagyl (only 750 mg/day) for several weeks. One thing

that I noticed in a BIG way was when she would take super anti-oxidant pills

from holistic doc - he suggested to take between meals for best effect - 3

days in a row she did this & 3 days in a row got cranky (not unmanageable /

not deressed) - told doc about it & he said more than likely the

anti-oxidants were pulling too many neurotoxins out of tissues at once &

overwhelming her system. He then recommended taking anti-oxidants with meals

- hasn't happened since... So, perhaps it's the neruotoxins overwhelming

your body? (Just guessing - after reading of Dr. Shoemaker's protocol, I

began trying to do what I can to " bind " neurotoxins to herbs & " up " the dose

of antioxidants to " munch up " toxins...)

Also - are you on an anti-candida regimen? Have read that the flagyl REALLY

generates candida - that's been our experience. (The holistic regimen we ar

using works very well - symptoms not nearly as noticable after even 1 dose -

now that we know what " normal " is (with regard to candida). LOL!) If anyone

wants info, can send it your way. I do believe, however, that at least the

products we're purchasing must be purchased through a doc (or perhaps massage

person / acupuncturist, etc.) - they're NOT prescription & anything but toxic

/ dangerous (garlic, castor bean acid derivative & fibre shakes), but

companies only sell to docs...

Hope this helps!

Blessings & velcro hugs,

Chris

Hi Helen,

Did I hear you right...3000mg of Flagyl a day for 21 days?! Wow! I

hope you can handle it...you've been through so much.

I am toughing it out for now...we'll see.

Hey, if you are seeing the " Dr B. " on Long Island, stop by my

house...I'm right on the way!!! Let me know.

Take Care,

Joan LI NY

Hi Kim,

My LLMD started me out on 250mg. of Flagyl and gradually

increased it. He wants me to stick with it until I see him again next

month, to see if this is a " cycle " ... as he calls it. He did tell me to

back off the dose if I really couldn't handle it...we'll see.

I hope that the Flagyl works for you again. I read the other day that

you (right?) went riding for the first time in a while...that's

wonderful! I've always had horses, but as I got sicker and sicker I

could no longer have any more after they passed away.

Where do you keep them?

Feel better,

Joan LI NY

Dear Joan,

No - not yet... We're treating with non-LLMD (what an " education " he's

getting - VBG!) & is only willing to give 750 mg flagyl - not the tinidazole

(who knows why?). Said he feels the side effects are probably less because

the flagyl is more effective??? I've read that the tissue penetration is

better with flagyl due to the molecular weight, so dosing has to be higher

with tinidazole - then another study says that the tinidazole works better...

Sigh...

Not even sure the 750 mg. flagyl is high enough dose, but we're going with

it, as that's what we have to work with (also taking 1,000 biaxin per day).

Blessings,

Chris

Hi Guys,

Well, it's finally happened. I am on my

8th week of Flagyl (1000mg/day) and it's making me crazy. I remember

Any suggestions? I feel anxious, depressed, and like I want to scream!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joan,
Xanax 0.25 mg and Zoloft 50 mg worked much better for me. I think
anxiousness hit me first but not so bad that I felt I needed anything.
Depression, but aggrevated with home problems, when it hit, took me down
into the dark hole.........scary. I hated to think I " needed " some
medication but I believe they saved me!! I remember walking into the dotors
office and was putting up the brave front, but for various reasons I started
crying. Everyone is so different though. I now only use Xanax when I feel
anxious inside, not so often now, and sometimes take with Ambien 10 mg for
sleep. The Zoloft , I now am breaking in half and then will go to every
other day to see how I do. There is something about the Flagyl that sure
affects the nervous system and it feels like you are spinning out of
control. It does pass, but I think not uncommon to stay " affected " for some
of us, and I really do think we need something to get thru this.
Hi Barb,
Thanks for the Flagyl info. Would I be able to take Xanax along with the
Prozac, or is that a no-no? I'd hate to give up the Prozac, as it's been
a real help to me.
How have you been feeling?
Thanks again,
Joan
