Guest guest
Hi Melody, Concerning the issue of scooters. My husband had the local people who sold them come to our home and I test drove them all. It is the only way to select one. We knew what we wanted as we love to go out a lot, so we ended up buying what my husband calls my ATV (all terrain vehicle). It has extra large wheels, large batteries and independent suspension. It is heavy though, so would probably not suit your requirements. It is made by a Canadian company. We needed a heavy duty scooter because I " go bush in it " It has to be tough to cope with where we go. My husband goes gold prospecting, and I drive around bird watching, spotting possible sites for him and generally having a great time in the bush. Kangaroos don't think too much of me though as there is a whine with the scooter which they have problems with. I get really great responses from people I meet. They are amazed at where I can get my scooter. (I once got it across a creek which was almost dry at the time) They almost always stop and chat. My husband also has a trail bike which he rides if we go together, as I go too fast for him (15 kms per hr top speed) to keep up with on foot. I haven't stopped smiling since I got my ATV. I can get out and about, and even go to the art gallery & shopping again! You mentioned buying second hand, and I thought I should tell you that there are special requirements on the purchase of second hand scooters in this country. They have to have a special certificate I believe. Maybe there is some similar requirement for your country too. Happy hunting. Best wishes from Selina
