Hi Folks!

More good info from RealAge - Note, especially, the last paragraph. I

don't know about the rest of you, but since having Lyme, I don't come

close to taking proper care of my teeth - darn, if I did a better job

of it I could be younger AND maybe improve my immune system!!

Read & enjoy!

July 26, 1999 - Flossing Gets Easier

Dear Real Age Community Member:

Most people know they should floss their teeth daily. However,

if you have tight contacts between your pearly whites, even

waxed floss may stick, tear, or shred. If flossing is

frustrating or painful, you may be less likely to stick to a

regular flossing schedule. If this sounds like you, try a

shred-resistant floss. Studies have shown that shred-resistant

floss slips more smoothly between teeth and is easier and more

comfortable to use than nylon floss or tape. Consequently,

irregular flossers are more likely to floss consistently after

meals.

When purchasing dental floss, look for the term " shred-resistant " on the

label, as well as the American Dental Association (ADA) Seal of

Acceptance. Used as directed, shred-resistant floss provides the

benefits of plaque removal and improved dental health.

RealAge Benefit: Gingivitis and periodontal disease may lead to aging of

the immune and arterial systems. Flossing and brushing daily can make

your RealAge as much as 6.4 years younger.
