Guest guest
Hi Barbara, Marta's been calling me the " eternal optimist " almost since the day we met, <G> so maybe I can share some of that with you. One of the things that keeps me going is knowing that even though Lyme research isn't that great, it's still way better than it was even 3 years ago when I became sick with Lyme. And just because there's not a cure today, doesn't mean that there won't be one tomorrow, or next week, or next month, etc. As others have said, we've all been " there " at one time or another, and may well be " there " again. I still get down from time to time, but I've got such great family support, as well as that of may other folks with Lyme and that security gives me the courage to work real hard at not looking at my own situation as hopeless and I do that by taking one day at a time. And you couldn't find a better place to get a big ole dose of hope and a great big dose of support than from the caring folks on this List! That's something else that's improved sooo much - the support that the internet affords us - the people willing to set up Online Support Chats and Newsgroups, as well as invaluable Lists like this one. It's OK to feel down and rant and rave and mad as hell, but, please, never give up hope.
