Guest guest
Jo, I did the full dosage - 4 caps of andro, resv., cat's and smilax - 4x daily for 2 months. I did fine with it. No gastro issues at all, and no bad herxes. It was right about at the two month mark I just got tired of taking so many pills (and started forgetting my last dose of the day), so I dropped down slowly to 4 caps 3x daily. (Btw, I think the link to the herbal dosage chart Jnanda posted on Monday is a great resource!) I'm not sure if any of my symptoms have increased due to me reducing the herbals (but many have improved since I started them). It's often up and down and there's too many factors to figure it out (a friend with similar issues recently reminded me to take a longer term view and not focus so much on the little ups and downs). Having said that, the constant has been that my brain fog and depression are almost non-existent most of the time lately, and my energy has been much better in general. In the past week and a half or so, I've been taking much less Andrographis (which can supposedly lower blood pressure) because of my increased heartbeat skipping and my somewhat low blood pressure (both of which I had before the herbals). The andro may not have anything to do with the recent heart stuff, but since I had a question I felt more comfortable lowering the andro while the heart symptoms were worse. It seems I had at least one virus in the past couple of weeks (chest congestion and gastro stuff), so maybe that is what was causing increased heart skips. I also found out yesterday from my pcp that I'm running a bit of a temperature and have some bronchitis. I've also dropped my Cat's Claw dosages a little in the past couple of days, as I trust the Resveratrol and Smilax the most out of the core protocol, as far as not aggravating what's happening with me as of late (mainly the heart skips). I prefer to take this process gradually. Sometimes when I go to take all my different supplements, I look at or pick up a bottle and just feel I can't swallow that particular one at the time (like I'll vomit if I try). I go with that, and hope it's my intuition and that I'm reading it right. I believe I've had Lyme several years and I know what you mean about wondering if two months at max is enough. More OT… I'm adding an essential oil protocol this week (good quality oils) for immunity. I've learned more about how they work and my skepticism from when I knew little about them is gone. I hope they help, but I believe they can't hurt. Either way, I'll enjoy them (joy is healing, too). I also realized they are still herbal/plant medicines and inhaling or applying them topically is just another way to get them into the body, only through different pathways. To my limited understanding, there are not too many things that, like essential oils, reach the limbic system, etc. I'm chemically sensitive but I've found that many good quality oils don't bother me. Based on that I'm going to try using one of them next time I'm in the presence of anyone wearing perfume (which I can't tolerate at all). I think natural essential oils can maybe take up receptors in our bodies/brains that synthetics like perfume would normally go through, so maybe block them (my " oil expert " agrees this may help). We'll see how it goes. I guess what I've been getting at here is we can only take healing a step at a time and that time and our bodies will help us figure it out along the way. Oh, one more thing. Maybe you *can* imagine being well enough to reduce your dose after only two months (? :-). Healing to you~ Ann In a message dated 1/4/07 1:58:20 AM, wyomin@... writes: > This is a LOT of pills!!! Guest guest
Hi Jo, It is a lot of pills! (smile) My maximum was 12, 4 pills three times a day. That was all I was willing to swallow. I stayed on max for 2 months, stopped, after 2 weeks, my leg pain came back, then I went on esberitox, now I am not taking Buhner's herbs, but other supplements. [i think my story is in the 'file' if you want to see more detail.] I was diagnosed with advanced Lyme, my test showed I had had it for more than a few months, perhaps a few years, I have no idea. so - what I'm saying - 2 months seems to have worked for me, of course everybody is different, but I hope you will see a BIG improvement. best, ellen In , wyomin@... wrote: > > This is a LOT of pills!!! Guest guest
Hey Jo: Are you taking up to 93 pills a day? That is what I was on for many months. Right NOW I am about to take my morning bunch of pills, which is 27, plus two tinctures and a spoonful of C-Salts in juice and water mix. I will take about 24 later today, and tonight probably about 18, OR I may even skip the late night one, depending on how I feel. I don't think these pills will affect your stomach all that much. When I started herbs a little over a year ago, my stomach was in dire straights. The herbs didn't help it, nor did they make it any worse. However the abx made it much worse. So I quit the abx last February and started C-Salts, which " cured " my stomach, and have had NO trouble taking all the herbs. I DO TAKE THEM WITH FOOD, always. TWO months won't even begin to " cure " you of Lyme IF you have had it so long. I had it about 1/3 that time and was on MY maximum protocol for more like 5 or 6 months. I take a lot more than the core protocol though, as I don't feel THAT is enough. That is a good start, but I was really in bad shape, and the core wasn't doing it. As a matter of fact, I started Devil's Claw right away, and that helped me tremendously. And then I added Stephania Root, Nettle, Milk Thistle, Red Root tincture, Periwinkle tincture, etc., etc.. Hope this helps you a little. It seems like a lot of pills at first, but you get used to it and " want " to take them. Jim ### wyomin@... wrote: This is a LOT of pills!!! Just looking for a few words from others to be sure I'm doing this right. It just seems like so many pills!!!!!!!! jo __________________________________________________
