What do you think? >> if your doctor is willing to put you on flagyl for 3-6 months, I have to say I would go for it....at times it is quite gross...and i have had days where I get out of bed as if I never had Lyme Disease...or joint pain/stiffness...grant you i am not done yet, and I still have stiff swollen joint days...but for the first time in a few years, I made pizza dough...from scratch kneading by hand..and meatballs.... and soup...all things that require a lot of standing to do the prep work...and a lot of finger manipulation...I also have found my brain...the cognitive function was my biggest problem...gonna forward you my boring letter of support for Dr. B. to bore you and show you, I am pretty darn coherent these days.. I would love to stop taking the med today...but I know I will tough out 6 months if my Dr. recommends it. I often forget if i took all 3 pills in a day, so I had to go back to the med pill box...and it has helped keep me straight... Just before the holidays I was feeling so well, I was looking at trying to return to work....so in a way I consider Flagyl well worth it...it is the first time since I declined I truly felt like that based on physical health, and nero cognitive functioning...and stamina I got a really bad cold the week b4 Christmas and spent the holidays on the couch....with a cold that went into a sinus infection.....but still manage to get stuff done..... right now hubby is doing well.....he started Flagyl b4 me.... my eldest is definitely improving on his combo of Ceftin and Biaxin... and FINALLY the doctor started my two younger on meds..... the I'm stressin some because coordinating 3 kids...at the same time is a little wacky....will start the youngest tonight....on his meds... my daughter was brought to the Dr. Wednesday and he told me her Epstein-Barr was neg....she has been having a lot of GI distress and burping (eructation)....for the last two weeks...often in the school nurse office without rhyme or reason to time of day....with abdominal pain ..so he said if her EBV was neg...he was going to put her on one set of meds..if it was positive he was choosing a 2nd set.... Well, I have a space on SKB lab form to have a duplicate report sent to me...to save me asking the Dr....so I got home that night...and the lab report copy I had...had " out of range, high " on all 3 things tested.....so I had to call to clarify since he chose what he put her on...based on my son's results...not hers..... sure enough he did keep her on the Augmentin he started her on, and yesterday added Biaxin...not sure why...but at last I know he is using the correct combo he wanted for her based on all her results.... I share this to show people how easy mistakes are made...and how to protect yourself....Bernadette
