Guest guest
The following is a suggested letter to your US Congressman in support of the Bi-Partisan Managed Care Reform Bill: Dear Representative... I am asking you to support H.R. 2723, the Bipartisan Consensus Managed Care Improvement Act, introduced by Congressmen Charlie Norwood (R-GA), Dingell (D-MI) and Greg Ganske (R-IA). The bill would: · provide patients access to an enforceable and timely independent external review; · guarantee that patients have access to specialists; · ensure that medical decisions are made by doctors and their patients; and · give patients the ability to hold HMOs legally accountable when they make medical decisions that harm patients. Our current Managed Care System clearly puts profits before the health of our citizens and cannot be allowed to continue without these needed reforms. This issue is truly a matter of life and death and we are looking to our legislators to defend our right to decent medical care through passage of HR2723 Sincerely, ----------- I took part of this from the letter suggested at www.patientadvocacy.org. TO find the e-mail address of your representative go to www.visi.com/juan/congress/ PLEASE WRITE YOUR REP. The bill certainly doesn't answer all the problems with our medical. system, but it is the best thing we might get now. And being able to sue HMO's will make a big difference.
