Guest guest
Pepi, in some circles there is the interesting belief that we live not one life but many, being reincarnated many times in an effort to achieve a true level of enlightenment and thereby take our rightful place in the wonder of creation. A line of thinking intrinsic to this perception of life, death and creation is the concept of choice and freewill....that we are not just born and subjected to life in this reality with its ups and downs, good fortune and bad but actually stand in the spirit world and with informed consent agree to take on the life we now have. Sometimes we do it to circle back and correct wrongs committed in another life, but possibly also to take on the harsher issues of this realm that prevent all mankind from rising to their true heavenly inheritance. What this means is, that in order for others to have an opportunity to grow spiritually some of us must take on the mantel of those circumstances that offer our fellow human beings the chance to step outside of their normal selfish selves and cross over into a place of greater understanding. There is no better invitation to ascend to a higher level of awareness than that which is offered through the opportunity to be compassionate. And certainly attempting to alleviate the suffering of an ill individual is one of the most compassionate acts in which anyone can engage. This is a tremendous undertaking for all spirits involved, the responsibility is great, but no doubt the rewards are greater still. Perhaps we in the lyme community are a unique group of spiritual soldiers who on a higher plane willingly took on this mantel of physical oppression in a grand effort to better, not just ourselves, but all of mankind. There is no doubt that the knowledge and understanding that can be gained by bringing our collective suffering to light will advance not just medical treatment of such illnesses, but probably promote greater insight into our planet, its environment and of course, ourselves. Not everyone goes in for this interpretation, but I find it is less traumatic on the soul than constantly pondering the " why me " victim scenario. That line of thinking can be spiritually draining and debilitating. Bad things happen to good people and I would like to believe that there is a better reason for this than just some kind of random spinning of the karmic wheel or some type of retribution for a punishable sin at work. Nobody's perfect and we all must experience growing pains to become spiritually aware......but its hard to justify some of the terrible things that go on in our world by saying that the people they happen to deserve what they get. Heaven knows every tear that has ever been shed and the lyme community has certainly shed more than its share! I'd like to believe that all of this suffering is not due so much to atonement for individual transgressions but some kind of united effort on all of our parts to bring forth a collective good for ourselves and mankind! :-) Just offering a different perspective.......
