Lynn,

I would never use the military in trying to talk about ticks (well,

maybe to point out how much research the Army has done.) Every military Dr I

have seen believes that lyme is atiquatly treated by 3 to 6 weeks of

abx....no matter the stage. If you aren't cured by then....it has to be

something else (their motto). If you are lucky enough to get one that doesn't

know much about lyme yet, you may be able to give them a little education.

Unfortuneatly they eventually start believing what other military colleagues

tell them. I swear they think Steer is God. I find it all to ironic that the

military has spent millions on researching ticks and their populations ( did

you know that almost every military facility has a problem with ticks, even

the ones over seas), but is so undereducated on how to treat lyme and other

tick born illnesses. Maybe they need to start spending some of their dollars

on educating their Dr's how to treat these illnesses and how to be more open

minded and less arrogant. Sorry I can't be a little more positive on military

Dr's, but I have been burned, misdiagnosed and undertreated for to many years

now. Maybe you could use the fact I stated earlier about the irony of all

their research, but in some areas they still know so little. Let me know if

you get anywhere. Hey, maybe you could visit with a congress person who is on

the military affairs committee. Unfortunately I can't attend MOW because my

daughter is scheduled for a slew of medical testing that day.

Good Luck !!
