My first thought is there's a full moon coming up this Saturday, and the days

before are a notorious herx time. Lyme doctors call it " the dance of the

parasites. " I always get agitated at least a few days before. Tuesday I was up

all night and very distressed. That seems a little early, but, who knows?

I've had eye symptoms a few times that sound similar. My left eye (which is my

weak side) getting something that looks like a thin oily film over it with

glittering fish scales, and bright flashes of light. They can go round like

you're looking through a kaleidoscope. When the shimmering lights subsided, some

of the flashes looked just like bolts of lightning!

The last time that happened was last winter. It bothered me intermittently for

hours on end. I connected it with a possible allergy because I had just made

some seitan that night (pure wheat gluten) and had been eating a lot of gluten

for months. Now I know (but didn't know then) that gluten is a no-no for lyme,

because it feeds it! I cut out all gluten immediately and started to feel better

within days. Herx reactions can also feel similar to allergic ones, so you may

be suffering a strong herx/toxic overload.

It came with a migraine headache, too. I had never been so afraid in my life

that I might have a brain tumor. (I don't. Had an MRI in March)

The worst time I had those eye symptoms I was driving straight up the side of

a mountain out in the middle of nowhere. My head just started reeling and I saw

stars, and " fish scales " and felt completely disoriented like I'd been struck on

the back of the head. Must have been due to rapid a change in air pressure,

sudden lack of oxygen to the brain? Whatever it was it scared me to death. But I

had to get my wits about me enough to turn around and go back down the mountain

after it had subsided some. It was all I could do not to panic.

I never told anybody that story. They'd never let me go on a road trip alone

again, LOL. Course I'm too tired for all that now, anyway. I also think I'm

having a harder time right now because I ran out of Iodoral a week ago. I hadn't

realized how much iodine was helping me relax at night. I think it was

Klinghardt that said it's the most important supplement for lyme, but I don't

remember.

Hi, Selma,

I really don't know what it is. It might be Lyme, helping itself to a brain

buffet, might be a herx, might be toxins, might be some weird reaction to the

herbs or the mepron or azithromycin... might be completely unrelated.

And I'm worried. And the worry is making me feel worse. Guess I'd better do

something about it.
