Do you know where he practices?

My LLMD did say that I may have Babesia, despite the negative test result.

Thanks,

Jane

Dear Jane: Yes, I have had that. It seems to indicate that there is a

viral component to your disease. Are you on any antivirals such as

Amantadine? When I went on those along with Biaxin, the fluctuation in

temperatures seemed to disappear. I am now on long term IV Zithro and

Amantadine and have not had the fluctuation in temps. Of course, they

just added IV Cytovene, and now I feel rotten. Oh well...

Hi Lovette

I am on Biaxin and Doxy. LLMD thinks it may be Babesia.

A temperature indicates that my body is fighting an enemy.

That enemy can be bacterial or viral.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

According to one of the docs at the Lyme Conference he believes most

all of us have co-infections and the one that was the most fascinating

to me along with the Bb was Babesia microti, which even if a smear

showed neg., the doc says only certain labs seem to be able to get a

pos., he treats the Babesia. He described the symptoms as malarial

like with sweats and chills, temps. up and down. Even stated when you

wake up wringing wet in the night, no it is not your change of life,

for the gals that have been told that. It is most likely due to

Babesia microti.

I wanted to get some things typed up from the Conference so that all

would get an idea of the different approaches to what treatments the

docs have tried and which they are now getting a little results from.

Some thought IV's were the way, others felt Orals were just as

effective and easier on the body over the long term. But if you don't

treat the co-infections then you will not get very far. I believe this

was Dr. Horowitz. He was a very dynamic speaker and also has

the ability to keep track of his Lyme patients results so is

researching as he goes. I was very impressed with what he had to say,

especially with all the symptoms that I have been having.

I wish my dang brain had not been so slow and I was sharper to get

more into the ole noggin. But maybe a couple others can remember what

I forget!
