Guest guest Posted June 15, 2001 Report Share Posted June 15, 2001 Hi Nida and welcome. I'm C from Louisiana. I wear AFO's, but in the past I have been less than consistent about it. My father-in-law was in ICU for a week and I had to wear them in order to walk all over the hospital. I didn't realize how much they help until I had to leave them off for a few days(I had worn them for so many hours every day that they rubbed pressure sores on my feet.) They really make a difference in my fatigue level at the end of the day. I don't wear them when I drive for long distances though. I don't feel like I have enough control or something. I think you'll get a lot from this group as well contribute a lot. Sometimes when someone posts something I think " Yeah, that's just how it is for me! " It may sound like a little thing, but it's great to be able to relate to others in my condition. Sometimes it makes the difference between a terrible day and a good day.
