Hi Marta,

You mentioned that you felt " drunk " , and that " all you drank was iced

tea " . Well, I can tell you from experience that it makes me feel drunk

all the time. (But I like it :-))

I remember that before I went in for my SPECT Scan I was told not to

drink anything with caffeine because I believe they said it retricts

bloodflow to the brain. Those of us with positive scans already have

decreased bloodflow to the brain, so it would stand to reason that one

would feel " altered " after drinking tea or other caffeinated beverages.

We have a joke in our house that " Mom's drunk on Coca Cola again! " .

It is proably NOT a good idea to drink these beverages...many LLMDs

advise against it. I should take their advice.....

:-}

HI Joan,

Thanks for mentioning this, funny though that I have drank iced tea

before in larger quantities and this feeling of being drunk never occurred.

Never have I felt so stupid, not giddy or anything, just like a drunk who is

trying to convince their friends they are OK to drive. Weird. I will lay

off the iced tea anyway with hopes that it will go away. Thank God for

spell check.

Hugs,

Marta

Not sure if this could be related, but a woman I spoke w/earlier this

week claims that she'd often wake up feeling drunk. Her background's

in chemistry, and she said she figured that what was happening was that

*sugar* (from dietary intake) was being converted into alcohol (and

something else I don't recall)-causing the drunken feeling. She was

having a heck of a time w/yeast from the abx.

For the record, I have a whole DRAWER of herbal teas. I'm a celestial seasonings

addict! lol I love peppermint, almond sunset, vanilla hazelnut, english toffee,

bengal spice, true blueberry....I could go on and on and on. I have at

least...100 boxes of tea in my drawer (it's a big drawer in my pantry) and yes I

drink all of them! lol

You just can't be out of peppermint! lol
