Cortisone question

Hi

I have finally made an apt to have my knee aspirated. Part of the

treatment the MD recommended was a shot of cortisone at the same time.

This seems problematic- cortisone suppresses the immune system. But

maybe one shot would not be a bad thing.

My doctor is conventional MD, not holistic, so he has no trouble about

cortisone. My father told me he had one shot in his shoulder, a long

time ago, and it apparently cured his pain.

I am really ready to get rid of the pain in my knee, which is why I am

considering it.

Knowing you all are not doctors :), wonder if you have any thoughts or

experience with this.

Hi Ellen, My daughter, Makayla went from Lyme only in her spine and left hip to

full neurological Lyme after the Dr.s misdiagnosed her with a herniated disk and

treated it with epidurals to the low back (steroids) She just seemed to get

worse everyday after that....with fasiculations, tremors, leg turning blue and

cold and swollen. I feel very strongly this treatment led to her decline.Sorry

to give a bad report but can you possibly consider more natural alternative to

steroid ? Steroids are usually tempory anyway. Sincerely (Makayla'smom)
