dear finnette,

i appreciate your sharing your professional view and review of klinghardt's

info. strikes me how different klinghardt's info is from buhner's. one of

reasons i so appreciate buhner is that he values and uses BOTH accurate precise

scientific info AND intuitive info.

gatefully,

kendra

.... per Dr. Klinghardts site: www.neuraltherapy.com/LymeALookBeyond6.pdf ...

After reading the article, I think He is an interesting guy, ; he recommends

auto-urine injections, freezing ALL lymph tissue of head and neck regions,

painting the skin with iodine, administering lithium; Now call me heretic but i

get a bit nervous at the lack of VALID references.

I am a traditionally taught scientist. When I am paid to vet a research paper I

look at many things but within the references cited it is crucial to note: the

types of references, how used within the paper, how reliable, and to make sure

they are really used or accurately stated. In Dr K's case: out of 19 references

90% are HIS from HIS OWN website; there are only 2-3 decent sources, one of

which is misquoted. The so called reference to Journal of immunology is

incomplete and when I back searched this one, I came up with a very broad based

ideation of the poor utility of ELISA and other immuno tests for ruling in or

out a Lyme infection. DUH -we all have known this for years. And Dr K has a

single sentence about this. And the few others are from MANUFACTURERS of the

stuff he is suggesting. No editor could rate this list of references as even

" fair " . It is frankly dismal.

I then looked at several more of his neuraltherapy web pages.

His successes ( and of those he rarely can pin down numbers or concrete

examples) seem to be because he uses MANY of the " protocols " together or in

sequence--he uses salt/Vitc and Marshall and a few others. It seems like a

barrage of throwing everything at a wall to see what sticks.

he says HBO isnt effective despite many who have found it to be symptom abating

for THEM.

and he often contradicts himself: for example- he says ICTH ( a way to increase

intracellular temperatures) arent effective but using T3 to increase total body

temps ( which also increases temps inside the cells) are effective...without

explaining how increased temperatures can both be effective and not effective.

so without getting anyone's dander up may I suggest that we all be very CAREFUL

about whose advice we take??? Dr K may mean well, may be educated and may even

have SOME of the answers; but frankly anyone who is fuzzy about references;

cites his OWN ideas as a reference, suggests others' protocols and re-packages

them, uses fringe science treatments and diagnoses, and suggests things like

urine injections should inspire a little caution. Is it that we are so desperate

that we ignore everything in the hopes of a cure? Plus, this makes it much

harder for those out there who are also looking for answers, but within the

bounds of realistic and reliable accountability.

He may be a genius and in 5-10 years we may say he has the " cure' ,but he still

should be held accountable, no?

This started as a FYI for Mucuna, morphed into Dr K...as is the norm when one

follows a path of research...and I do NOT have the intent to dissuade anyone

from doing anything they think will help them. Just providing information, and a

caveat to be CAUTIOUS, with justified reasons behind my opinion.

be well and be CAREFUL

Finette
