Hello all,

Especially big hugs to the members of this group who attended the

protest....especially Ellen! I am so sorry, I talked to her for a good 15

minutes, then when we were getting ready to leave, I went around saying

goodbye, and asked her who she was again.....that's scary, oh well. I do

apologize for that.

My husband and I left our home a little after 5AM yesterday morning

to make the 6:15 train to NYC. I was very excited, my first train ride, and

my first protest. We arrived in the city about 8AM, and had to wait around

for the other protesters so we went into Macy's to see their Xmas displays,

after a quick breakfast. I wore a light jacket as I had heard it was to go

up to the mid-50's, it was pretty cold, and windy, until the protest started

at noon. We were lucky our protest was on the sunny side of the street, as

that helped keep us warm.

When we got in line with our fellow protesters about 11:30AM, there was a

mere handful of us, I was amazed as more and more people joined us. The

police were great, and kept running off to get more barriers for the

additional people that kept arriving. They needed to barricade us, to allow

passersby to get through and they did a terrific job. Never once did I feel

anything but respect and courtesy from the officers that were there in

charge of us. I spent as much time as I could going around trying to meet

people whose screen names I knew but not their faces. I only wish I had a

better brain so I could keep their faces forever in my memory. did

take some pictures, but I don't know how many yet.

In the words of Mark Twain:

The scientist. He will spend thirty years in building up a mountain range

of

facts with the intent to prove a certain theory; then he is so happy in his

achievement that as a rule he overlooks the main chief fact of all--that his

accumulation proves an entirely different thing.
