Dr. Zhang sold me some coptis here in NYC - he's mentioned in Buhner's

book.

Zhang's book suggest the following dose: 2 caps / 3x a day before meals.

i can't say Zhang's preparations are the same as elsewhere. his

proprietary

extract is 200mg of coptis per capsule.

Steve, many thanks!

400mg would mean about 2/3 of OO capsules 3 x day... Probably one 0

capsule a day (?).

But is this extract or whole root/bark? It looks like root what I got

here!

that's a good point, Selma. Dr. Zhang's coptis capsules are

on the small side. not the smallest, but definitely smaller than

the 00 caps. smaller than NOW vitamins " 1 " gelcaps, if you've

ever seen them.

his book says " consitutent herb - Coptis chinensis Franch. did they

spell french wrong? who knows? maybe you should just order from

Zhang directly. they could ship it to you.

Thanks for the link, Steve. There's a branch of Dr. Zhang's pharmacy

here in Switzerland, but I never bought things with them (too

expensive for what they contain). I was about to, when I got Buhner's

book in my hands and started his protocol.

My ART naturopath has the capsules with her for testing, but they

rarely test good according to her. Maybe problems with purity??

I have the coptis roots with me, I just wanted to make a test to see

if I could substitute andro.

I noted dosage for next time I try it. Thanks really.

It could be - although Zhang's book states the herbs are all free of

impurities

and contamenants, etc. It mentions they all have to pass U.S. customs

standards, but

perhaps in Europe there are different standards? i would think that

you guys are getting

the same herbs as we are, however. i had no idea Zhang was so global.

Good to know he states herbs are pure. I might think about them again

one day if I wish to change to his protocol in the future.

Zhang's got a 'pharmacy' here, I mean, it's a normal pharmacy that also

sells his pills for the same price as in the US. At least, I don't have

to pay taxes.

I'm pretty sure is 'same standards' as in the US, not more 'purified'

or so as there are other Chinese pharmacies around.

And Zhang's pills are only sold in Switzerland, I don't think there are

other retailers in other European countries ( I never heard of).

Many have tried his herbs, you can check lymenet. Some with good

results, some without.

Thanks! Maybe I should get his book!
