Ann,

I love the pina coladas in Hawaii idea! :) (seriously, I've actually pondered

moving to Costa Rica because I think the food, lifestyle and climate are

probably healthier than Denver)

Thanks for the idea of Bromelain...I've also heard that Cordyceps and some

other mushrooms also raise CD-57. I may look into it at some point.

I do hope you are feeling better and that you have a wonderful day!

Buhner writes on page 161 of Healing Lyme that Bromelain " has also been

found to enhance CD57, expression which makes it useful in late-stage or

chronic

Lyme infections. "

I've been taking a digestive enzyme mix for years which has bromelain in it,

but in relatively small amounts (obviously not enough to raise my CD57).

Supplements with Bromelain only are available, and I've also seen it in mixed

formulas. Buhner recommends it mixed with Curcumin, however that ingredient

didn't agree with my digestive tract when I tried it a few years ago.

Bromelain is an " isolated constituent of pineapple. "

The best alternative might be moving to Hawaii and drinking pina coladas on

the beach every day.

Just a little more info on Bromelain…

I saw my naturopath and she said she only prescribes proteolytic enzymes like

Bromelain, WoBenZyme, etc. acutely/short term, otherwise she pulses (so many

weeks on, same amount of weeks off). They are taken without food and she said

after a while they can start to digest things you don't want them to (ick).

Connie, I had forgotten about the mushrooms for CD57. Now that you mention

it, I remember seeing brand recommendations in Dr. Burrascano's guidelines. I

think I decided to hold off on mushrooms while doing Buhner's cp so as not to

mix protocols (they'd probably go great with the Bong/Salt-C protocol, though).
