Guest guest
hello gang, its been awhile...but I have not been feeling well at all. Here it is....one year and ten different doctors later I am finally getting the liver biopsy done to see what the heck is wrong with my liver!!! The LFT's are still abnormal... and there are a few others off also. I just hope they will find out once and for all what is going on....I only hope its something that can be treated. I am also having an extra piece of liver meat taken out for a Lyme PCR.....just to check. (the hepatologist told us there is no way that lyme bacteria could be in the liver!!! He is NOT lyme-literate!!!) I got my own Lyme Doc to write the script to get the extra biopsy done for the lyme PCR. It would be nice if they found a spiro or two.......or even a piece!!! We shall see. My arthritis is hurting in my hands and fingers...so I don't do much typing these days. I mostly try and catch up on sleep. Not sleeping well.......and I am flared with my lyme symptoms... my knees are so very bad......but I cannot get anymore IV's until I find out what'sup with my liver. I will be admitted to the hospital (Underwood for those familiar!!! in Woodbury) at 930AM and biopsy by catscan will be done at 10-1030. I will have to stay in the short stay unit for quite a few hours afterwards to make sure I don't bleed thru.......my platelets are low...but I should be ok. They did more labs today. I just hope I don't need a transfusion (imagineing the worse case scenario) I have a rarer blood type... AB+........and no family member nearby with my type. Lets just pray for the best. Please.....keep me in your prayers....or at least send good vibes towards NJ!!!!!! Love to all...I will let you know wat happens. Guest guest
Hi Fransea, I'm glad that you will finally get to the bottom of your liver problems...it may not be as serious as you fear. Having a PCR for Lyme done on your liver is a great idea and has the possibility of helping us all. Don't worry too much about the test, and let us know how you are doing ASAP. My thoughts are with you! Joan LI NY
Guest guest
Hi Fransea, Damn, I wish I had seen this post yesterday....I live a stone's throw from Underwood Hospital in Woodbury, about 8 miles or so. I would have come to visit you or waited in recovery for you. Darn it all. You definitely have my prayers that all will be well, and a big prayer too that they remember to biopsy that piece for LD research. I know others who were promised this and found it was not done. I wish I had your rare blood type, but I am only A+. Hang in there sweetie, better days are coming, waiting to hear how you made out. Guest guest
Does anyone know which lab(s) are able to detect the spirochetes in specimens? (I'm in Delaware.) I ask because I had cervical cysts treated twice in the past month w/silver nitrate. The GYN isn't LL, and I asked him if the specimen he sent to pathology could bechecked for spirochetes, but hedidn't thinkso. I didn't have the energy to follow-up on this at the time, but for future reference, it'd benice to know where specimens could be sent for this. btw, the silver nitratecaused a major Herx. Thanks, Sue

I just had an Uterine Artery Embolization, which threw off my >Herx schedule. Just a thought. I had 2 recent treatments of silver nitrate for cervical cysts. After the first tx (for the majority of the cysts), w/in days, I had the most severe Herx I've ever had. Sue
