Herxing on Japanese Knotweed?

Hi everyone,

I just wondered if anyone here has experienced a strong herxheimer

reaction after taking Japanese Knotweed? I took just one capsule for

3 days last week and had really horrendous cognitive and mental

disturbances for about 4 days after that eg confusion, memory loss

and depression and just felt like my brain cells were dying! I didnt

attribute my reaction at the time to the knotweed partly as I was so

confused and as I had just bought a new computer and thought the

problem was to do with chemical exposure & the EMFs. In hindsight I

really think it was the knotweed now. Ive also been getting head

pains and sensations all over my head and what feels like

intracranial pressure which is something I dont get normally. Since

then I have found out that I have borrelia like spirochetes in my

blood diagnosed by microscopy so it makes sense now that it was most

likely a herx. I have no idea how long I have been infected for, I

have had CFS/ME for 14 yrs though and judging from my reaction I

think my bacterial/spirochete load is probably quite high and

disseminated.

So I was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar reaction? I

have noticed an improvement in energy and mentally too since then

which is a good sign I guess! But it looks like I will have to go

very slowly with the herbs.

Thanks,

Anne
