Guest guest
Hi Everyone, First of all, I already miss the messages of our dear Selma.. I am on B's protocol for one month right now. I started with Cat's Claw (In my case Samento) and then started with Smilax, Resveratrol and Andro. I build it up like Buhner recommends. I am full on smilax, half on resveratrol and only 4 x 1 on Andro now. But my stomach! HE SEEMS NOW LIKE A BASKETBALL ! Are here more people with this (hopefully temporarily) problem? - My 1st Q. is: There are two brands on the market who looks almost the same. That's Planetary Formulas, see http://www.vitacost.com/PlanetaryFormulasFullSpectrumAndrographis and Planetary Herbals, see http://www.iherb.com/store/ProductDetails.aspx?c=Herbs & pid=PTF-10488 The supplement facts are near the same, the Planetary Herbals do only have some more calcium in it. They are also 0.69 cents more expensive. I guess it makes no sense. Somebody advice or experiences with both? - My 2nd Q. is: I have to questions about the use of Sarsaparilla and Andrographis. I use the Nature's Way Sarsaparilla, see http://www.vitacost.com/Natures-Way-Sarsaparilla-Root Buhner recommends capsules of 425 - 500 mg. I have heard more people use the sarsaparilla of Nature's Way. But!: CERTIFIED 425 mg., on front of the label and on the supplement facts it says 850 mg. What's the difference? (I am a newbie in this stuff..) I hope my stomach will stay at basketball size or go back to softball size! At least no Skippy ball please!! Wish you steady healings, Hans. Guest guest
Hans: I don't know if anyone else answered you or not, so here goes: Good you are on the protocol. IF you are taking the TOA Free Samento, THAT could be a problem. I have NEVER taken that, and Buhner does NOT recommend THAT. Try the whole herb and start out slow and see IF that helps. I never had THAT problem. I did have a lot of gas the first few day, espeically when I did the Devil's Claw, but it all got better, and I made sure I didn't take the Devil's Claw late at night before bed time. I did have stomach pains, but that was not caused by herbs. It was caused by so much vitamin C over the years in ascorbic acid form, along with way too much soda pop for a few years. C-Salts took care of that problem, and also a few weeks after I stopped Tetracycline and Doxyclycine it got better. As far as the Planetary Herbals from VitaCost, I took a few bottle of their herbs, but don't remember WHICH herbs exactly I took of them. I ordered herbs from VitaCost, MyVitaNet and Herbs-Wholesale in the beginning and Also from StarWest Botanicals when I first went to bulk. But now I buy them all from 1st Chinese since they expanded to many more and have more than doubled their business this past year. They handle Plum Flower Brand, and also the StarWest Botanicals also. I personally agree with what Buhner told me one time and that is HE would not want to take any adulterated herbs. Many of them are. That is another reason I like to get bulk that has no preservatives in them if at all possible. I keep my bulk packages all in my refrigerator in my old home-studio. My bottled encapsulated herbs are kept here in our new house, NOT refrigerated. As far as that 425 and 850 mg thing. Look on the back closer and see IF that 850 is for a dosage of 2 capsules. I am sure that is what it is. Jim. ### hansvna <hansvna@...> wrote: Hi Everyone, First of all, I already miss the messages of our dear Selma.. I am on B's protocol for one month right now. Guest guest
hi hans, sorry to hear about digestive upset. what brand andro are you using? when you write " only 4 x 1 on Andro now " do you mean you are taking 4 tablets 1 time a day?? if so, i suggest breaking that dose into at least 3-4 times a day, that is, REDUCE the number you are taking each time to only 1 cap 4xday. much easier on stomach. also, are you taking all your herbs, esp the andro with food? that's essential for most of us to avoid upset. fyi, i can't take either of the brands you list below because they contain all these fillers: Other Ingredients: Dibasic calcium phosphate, stearic acid, colloidal silicon dioxide, and modified cellulose gum. plus, both are TABLETS which buhner says are exceptionally bitter--and may be contributing to your upset? buhner recommends capsules not tablets. altho it costs more than tablets, Nature's Way is the brand i use that matches buhner's suggestions and which has NO fillers other than cellulose. (btw, the iherb site says it contains " rice powder " and i'm intolerant of rice. but i called the company and there is no rice in it, only cellulose. the bottle in my hand also does not list rice.) http://www.iherb.com/store/ProductDetails.aspx?c=Herbs & pid=NWY-15381 regarding the Nature's Way Sarsaparilla. if you look closely at the Serving size, it is 2 caps. so each cap is 425mg. but the serving size is 2 caps, so 850mg. radiant blessing on your healing journey. kendra -----Original Message----- I am on B's protocol for one month right now. Guest guest
Andrographis is rapidly excreted from the body, so that's why we take it three or four times a day no matter how much we're taking at a time. kendra wrote: > > hi hans, > sorry to hear about digestive upset. what brand andro are you using? > when you write " only 4 x 1 on Andro now " do you mean you are taking 4 > tablets 1 time a day?? if so, i suggest breaking that dose into at > least 3-4 > times a day, >
Guest guest
I think we need to also note here, that probably the more correct word would be to " eliminate " . It is eliminated mainly through the urine. Although excrement CAN be used for the term urinate, it is more often used and more readily accepted that excrement is a term for feces which is excreted through the alimentary canal. This is the canal that runs from the mouth to the anus. Whereas the majority of the liquid that we take in our mouths is eliminated through the urethra, except when very hot, then we " sweat it out " . So in plain common english, we PEE the andrographis out of our bodies very often each day, NOT CRAP it out. Guest guest
Thanks for your answers, Kendra, Jim and Jo! I think both `Planetary' Andro's and Nature's Way's as well, are matching with what Buhner recommends. Maybe the Nature's Way Andro is better because of the less fillers, like Kendra said. Kendra, I take four Times 1 tablets Andro, from today 4 times 2 tablets. So, I use them like you suggest already. Maybe I was not clear enough with " 4 x 1 " . Jim, is there a side effect of using Samento? I try to alternate between TOA-free and whole of Rain-tree. I understand the " Amount per serving " on the facts of smilax, which makes 2x425 mg. = 850 mg. Guest guest
Dear Friends, I'm looking to go the mainly bulk herbs route, and would like feedback on capsule making machines. I've seen three--one that does 24, one that does 50 (both for about the same price) and one that does 60 that's more expensive. Anyone use one? If so, which kind, why do you like it and what would you like it to do that it doesn't (other than do the whole thing for you)? Best, Cass A
