They both refused to test me for lyme....when me and my hubby requested a lyme test. I had seen an article in the paper with info on the lyme symptoms and asked my hubby " what does this sound like " he said it sounded like me! So we asked them to test me. They were both indignant and refused to test me....actually one said she would...and then never did.....(she wrote this in my file). God only knows how I would be feeling now if I had treatment ASAP instead of having NO TREATMENT for three years! When we moved to NJ I looked all over for a doc who knew about Fibromy- algia...which is what I was told my disability was. (I had not been able to work for those three years previously) When I seen the doc here in NJ....my hubby again suggested she test me for Lyme...and she did, reluctantly...because she thought I was just a fat, lazy, crazy slob. (she sent me to the psychiatrist) Then my elisa came back off- the charts and she said to me.....Oh Fran, I guess you really were sick!! (no s--t sherlock!) Needless to say I underwent 6 weeks of Doxy and then searched for another doc..one that would listen to me....and believed me when I explained all my symptoms!!!..and I found Dr. Lionetti!! I called an attorney in Phila who advertises on TV and they sent me to my attorney cause they have done lyme cases before. We shall see. Depositions have been done....trial in a year or so. I am sure you would not be surprised to know that both of those docs lied in their depositions. One of the docs whom I had been seeing for many years previous to my becoming ill enough to not be able to work anymore.....this doc said that me and my husband were " strange " people!!!! Why? because we asked her to do a simple test??? She had even seen my rashes....she knew where I lived....she should have known the risk factor!!!! When I found out I had lyme....I cried for days. And then I cried for many more when I started reading about lyme.....since at that point I had no knowledge at all about lyme. Now I am a tickphobic and drive everyone nuts because I know that if I had been treated promptly....even for the six weeks of Doxy when I had the bulls eye rashes, then I could be a different person now. I always speak of myself as " in my previous life " and now " living with lyme.....its a crime!!!!! " I try and help others get prompt treatment....but there are soooooo many who just don't want to hear about it. Hey, they will have to learn the hard way. And how sad that makes me!!! hugs,, Fransea NJ Seashore

I wish you luck, and I hope for the sake of all people in the future needing Lyme screening that you win. I hope you publicize it to death if you do, so that doctors will be too afraid to refuse to test. I also believe that public parks that refuse to post warnings or hand out fliers where Lyme is known to exist must be sued. That is also negligence. Guest guest
Hi Fransea, Strange People???? Geeze, sue her for slander too. That makes my blood boil.....I am glad you are not sitting back and taking this abuse, I applaud you and hope you set a precedent for all of us. I have to laugh, no matter how often Lawyers are disparaged, who do we call on when we have been wronged??? It's so sad that most people won't heed our advice on prompt treatment, some people must learn from their own mistakes or ignorance. Some people just like to keep their heads in the sand.
