Which of the Core Protocol do you take?

Hi, all,

I am following the discussion of tinctures with interest. Perhaps

Buhner will come to a different position on that.

Question - when following the CP (Core Protocol -or - Communist

Party?) with capsules, I did not know how many of the different herbs

to take.

Dealing with Lyme only: in the book, he talks about the 3, Andro,

cat's claw, and resv.

Then lists 2 more.

I felt 12 pills was enough so I took 3 different herbs.

But I wish I knew - is it very important to take 5 - is it optional?

How to decide?

Has anybody raised this with SB, or know?

thanks,

ellen

my understanding is it depends:

depends on what your symptoms are and how long you've had the illness and

what other treatments you are doing ....

for the core:

3 are essential

smilax buhner says is mainly to help with herx. if you don't have bad herx

or have other ways to deal with it, probably don't need smilax. me, i need

all the help i can get, have terrible herx. read other actions of smilax and

see if they fit your needs.

astralgalus, as he says, DEPENDS on the stage. it is NOT recommended for

late-stage lyme, like mine. it can make things worse.

in expanded protocol, depends on your symptoms and how they are being

handled. i have overwhelming issues in many areas, fatigue, pain, etc. so

i'm taking many of the additional supplements and herbs he suggests. i went

thru each section and marked my symptoms and what i was already taking,

decided what to add.

if you have few symptoms or well-controlled symptoms, just know these other

resources are available if-when needed.

love,

kendra

5?

Try Ten or twelve!

I am taking, RIGHT NOW: Coptis, (not in Buhner's Protocol); Hu Zhang,

(Resveratrol); Sarsaparilla, (Smilax); Stephania Root, Nettle, Cat's Claw,

Devil's Claw, Milk Thistle, Schisandra berry, Vitamin E, Vitamin B Complex. All

of those are in capsule form. Then I also take, three times a day: Red Root

tincture, and Periwinkle tincture.

Plus C-Salts.

I have taken others in the past such as Andrographis, Olive Leaf, Ginger Root,

Garlic, Oregano, Yohimbe. Some of those I do NOT recommend with Buhner's

Protocols.

While they are good for some things, they have the tendency to cancel out

Buhner's regimen. He has researched his recommendations VERY thoroughly, so you

MUST be VERY careful when You vary even one iota from his recommendations, or

you will be just spinning your wheels.

IF you decide to try Coptis, be SUPER careful that you don't overdo it.

Coptis is THE strongest herb out there you can get without a prescription. I

got into trouble with it the first time around. But am NOW ramping up slowly,

very slowly. I took ONE " 0 " size capsule a day last week. I just started

taking TWO a DAY starting yesterday. Will do that for a week, then go to THREE

a DAY for awhile. I may NEVER ramp up any higher. IT IS VERY STRONG. Do NOT

take Andrographis when you are taking Coptis. The two will PROBABLY overwhelm

your liver, even if you are taking Milk Thistle, Red Root and Sarsaparilla, and

anything else that cleans out your blood and Lymph System.

I repeat: Be VERY CAREFUL with Coptis.

JB.
