Guest guest
Hi Kiana, First, welcome to this most exclusive club!!! I got a good laugh at your shower episode, laughing out of sympathy and recognition (wow, does this begin to sound familiar). I've become very forgetful lately, about who I'm calling, why I'm doing a particular thing. For instance, today I was relating a story to a fellow employee and all of a sudden went blank, it just ran away from me. He was gracious and helped me out by reminding me what I had been talking about, but it was a little frightening. I've heard that this happens to you once you get past 40, but I've still got 24 good days left yet! I'm hoping that this will resolve w/ further abx therapy, but am beginning to wonder. You have quite a story, and I enjoy your spirit... To all of us Doughnut heads, Jim

Guest guest
On Thursday morning I took a shower and couldn't remember how to adjust the temperature. Even though the handles clearly say " hot " and " cold " I couldn't remember if the cold handle went down or up. Then just before getting out of the shower I forgot how to turn it off. I decided that laughing at my situation was the best medicine. As soon as I started to laugh I suddenly remembered how to do it. Guest guest
Well, you're not the only one who's gone out without appropriate clothing. One of my friends told me that a female coworker showed up for work one day, took off her coat and said, " Oh my God, I forgot my pants! " She had put on a pair of heavy tights, tried on her shoes to make sure they would fit with the tights, and then had forgotten to put her slacks on. So far I have managed not to wander out into traffic half-clothed, or anything like that. But sometimes I wonder how.... Jean

Looked down and there I was barefoot. I hope I never go to the store in my pjs. Could be embarrasing. I usually dont wear any because I get way too hot. Can you see me explaing that to the police? Guest guest
Hi Mimianne,, Wha is so crazy, is I did check before I got in the car. But because of the painful skin I wear " Silver Threads " super thin poly pants, they are as light as my pj bottoms, that is why I ccouldn' t tell the difference. I shopped or one hour in Office Max, I knew I needed supplies, but couldn't remember what so I wandered. Any way not only were they old pj's, but inside out, the hems were dragging and the tag on my butt was showing. I don't think I will ever live it down. Guest guest
yeah, this cutting back on the sugar, dairy, and red meat has had its benefits. last fall i was swelling up from abx. eating a bunch of stuff prior to popping a pill so i would not feel sick. have finally lost some of those pounds. i am reading on the minoclycline bottle that food may interact w/the med. but my pharm. says i need to eat food or i will feel sick? anyone know if eating food prior to popping this abx pill is making it less effective? also my md said to take it in the morning but i do the yogurt thing then and actually have been taking it around 3:00 pm. ,>From: " J & M McCoy " <mlmccoy@...> > >Hi , > If I could wear a size 10 again, I would wear that strip with >pride......LOL! >Hugs, >Marta > > >>From: mimianne@... >> >>you probably looked very hip and cool! >>i went to a humane society fund raiser and was supposed to MC a pet >contest. >>i had one of those long stickers that have black circled ... size 10, size >>10, size 10 .... all over it from the waist line down the back of the leg. >>LUCKILY the girl w/me saw it and ripped it off!!!!!! god, how embarrassing! >>she of course had to say, " new pair of shorts huh " . >> > > > >------------------------------------------------------------------------ >Did you know each week we feature a ONElist story? > >How has ONElist changed your life? Guest guest
Hi Terri, If you have trouble absorbing vit B12, is your folic acid also on the low side... I got mine up again by using POM grade 5mg folic acid/day my memory improved quite noticeably over time, enabling an easier flowing conversation without forgetting simple words. Guest guest
You need to be taking 200mcgs Selenium a day Terri with your food and also Vitamin C, and probably some minerals too. You need to get your ferritin tested because if you have low stored iron, your Armour will not be able to work. You might also have Candida, another condition that will stop your Armour from working. Sadly, the NHS do not recognise the connection with low thyroid and the reason why some people do not do well when on thyroid hormone replacement, but seriously, I can't emphasise enough the importance of finding out if you do have any of these problems, and getting the appropriate treatment. I can't think it would be the T3 after all this time that is giving you the tightness in your head, but you could test this yourself by dropping back to your previous dose and see if the headache ceases. With too much T3 you usually get palpitations, a bit of dizziness and sweating and generally feeling spaced out. Have you done the questionnaires (in our files) to see if you have an Adrenal and/or Candida problem? Luv - Sheila Hi everyoneI used to take 75 mg of Levothyroxine but converted to Armour Thyroid about 6 weeks ago. I started with 1/2 grain for 7 days in which I experienced a little anxiety & minor palpitations which quickly subsided. For 3 weeks I stayed on 1 grain and increased to 1 1/2 grains 2 weeks ago. I'm doing OK but experiencing 'mind fog', an inability to think straight and the last couple of days I have developed a feeling of 'tightening of the head'with a mild accompanying headache. Could this be down to the T3 and does it normally get better - I work in healthcare and can't afford to make silly mistakes because my brain isn't working properly! Guest guest
Hi Terri, You may be slightly overdosed as you were on only 75 T4 . 1 1/2 grains Armour has 57 mcg T4 and 14mcg T3 = 54mcg T4 total 111T4 so you see this is more than you were taking- this of course assumes that you can convert properly, which you probably can't or you wouldn't need the Armour in the first place!! In your place I'd go back to 1 grain and see how that goes. Subject: Mind Fog Hi everyone I used to take 75 mg of Levothyroxine but converted to Armour Thyroid about 6 weeks ago. Any advice would be appreciated. Guest guest
Hello Terri, Firstly I would suggest you drop back to 1 grain of Armour for a week, then increase by only a quarter of a grain - the quarter grain makes a great difference. The approximate Levothyrone (T4) equivalent to 1 grain of Armour is between 74mcg - 100 mcg. This can only be approximate because of the many variables involved including absorbtion, peripheral conversion and half-life. By increasing to one and half grains you jumped to the equivelancy of T4 which is between 111mcg - 150 mcg whereas one and quarter grains of Armour would give you the equivelancy of between 92.5 mcg - 125 mcg. Hope you are following me here! Best of luck....June x > I used to take 75 mg of Levothyroxine but converted to Armour Thyroid > about 6 weeks ago.
