Guest guest Posted August 23, 1999 Report Share Posted August 23, 1999 Hello Gang, I haven't written in a while.. been feeling pretty yukky lately....Same ol " lymie " stuff with a few new additions, just worse. And now after my doc visit I must say I'm feeling even worse. My new lyme titers came back reactive, positive for erlich also. I have been feeling miserable and know that I need iv meds, but unfortunately my doc is one of the doctors that are being attacked by Dattwhyler and his guru of idiots and now My doc refuses to put me on iv meds because he says that Dattwhyler says it's not necessary. I asked him what Is considered " necessary " . He said that I have to have a positive Spect, which I do .. a positive MRI.. which I do , It shows lesions on my brain and I have to have highly positive lyme titers which I do .. I told him that I had all three of those, but he insisted that he needed a backup, and told me that I need to see another neuro Doc who can tell him ( my present doc) that I need IV abx in order for my doc to be able to treat me. Thank God.. I already do have an appt with Dr. Fallon on Sept.2nd.Hopefully Dr. Fallon will tell My doc that ivs will help so I can go ahead and get some relief, but until then I am scr***d ! I remeber b4 all of this Dattwhyler stuff when my doc wanted me to go on iv abx and I opted for Bi Cillin shots instead, now I need the abx and he won't give em to me. It's so upsetting , especially since his office was full of patients who already had central lines in them. I was happy for them , but very depressed that he wouldn't give meone : ( Well sorry for rambling guys. I hope ur all feeling well . Guest guest Posted August 24, 1999 Report Share Posted August 24, 1999 Hi Di, You and I are in the same boat, unable to get aggressive treatment because of either insurance restrictions or the witch hunt started by Dr Rattwyler. We are all going to continue to see these repercussions relating to our treatment. Good Lyme doctors are running scared. Can we really blame them? They have families to support just like we do. Your doctor is doing exactly what my Lyme doctor has to do, sending you for a second opinion so he is off the hook....it is sad, but this is the state we are in if we have Lyme disease today. The patients are in the middle of this war between the two camps, we are hostages and worse, we are or will soon be the casualties of this war. We sure need to do something about it while we are able, but what? I am so sorry you are feeling so bad. Hugs to everyone, WITH WHAT has happened to Dr. B. and other DR's being under investigation. This is only the begging. If things are not changed we will end up with no one willing to do IV therapy or those that are willing it will be for a short term duration.
