Carol, sorry to hear that. Have you checked andrographis? I think

someone from this forum has healed a family member from pneumonia

with andrographis. It seems Buhner wrote something in his book.

Hope someone else will come with help there.

Hi Carol and everyone,

I'm new here and just wanted to say that as Selma pointed out although Buhner

does not

make reference to C Pneumoniae in his book he does point to research which shows

that 3

of the core herbs (andrographis, cats claw and japanese knotweed) have been used

with

some success to treat pneumonia which is caused by Cpn as you probably know.

Though I

guess the success will depend on what stage the bacteria is in, if its chronic

the response

rate may differ. If you dont have Buhners book already I really recommend it

as its

fascinating to read whether you have lyme or not but it also contains a lot of

research and

interesting info about properties of the herbs.

Also here is an article showing how resveratrol which is in japanese knotweed,

and

curcumin, are active against CPn.

http://tinyurl.com/39xqxm

I was interested in this myself as I suspect that I might have Cpn or maybe a

mycoplasma

infection and Ive been investigating alternative approaches to using antibiotics

or to use

alongside them. I dont know for sure yet though, I had a consult with Dr AW

this week

and I'm having the microscopy test done with him but I did have quite a strong

reaction

quite recently after trialling a couple of doses of Azithromycin which made me

suspect

even more that I might have CPn. I posted a question to Buhner on planetthrive

a couple

of weeks ago asking him if he has any experience in dealing with these two

particular

infections so that might be worth keeping your eye on too. He hasnt replied yet,

I think he

normally takes a few weeks to respond.

Cheers,

Anne

Hi,

Thanks, Selma.

Quite a few people over here in the UK who having borrelia found in

their blood by microscopy are also having chlamydia pneumonia found,

so it could be relevent to others, so I'll tell you all how far I've

got.

I emailed Buhner asking him whether the Buhner protocol may

be of use or if there were any other herbs worth trying. He said he

was in a rush so it was a quick reply. He didn't mention the Buhner

protocol or andrographis. He said the following herbs may be of use:

garlic, goldenseal, sage, boneset, eucalptus, usnea.

I also emailed Dr Zhang, and he thought his Lyme protocol should be

effective against chlamydia pneumonia. My chinese doc thought HH

should be effective against it. I am currently taking HH (which is

part of Dr Zhangs protocol) and similar to andrographis in chinese

action, but the actual active chemical is different. I might ask my

chinese doc if I can have andrographis added in. I'm also on Samento

and Sarsaparilla root and astragalus. Plus various supplements.

I've also found a reference indicating that resveritrol and curcumin

are anti Chlamydia pn.

Also got a KMT24 device and a rife machine so can try these as they

both have programs for it.

Cheers,

Carol

fyi, all these herbs that buhner suggested are described in his book Herbal

more about each of those herbs and their uses in that book.

Hi Anne,

It was AW who found the C pn in my blood. An antibody test for it 2

years ago was negative. I didn't try the azithromycin test. I do

have the Buhner book, thanks. Read most of it quite a while ago.

Will have to read it again now. My chinese doc has read it too, she

has found it useful.

Buhner told me he was in a hurry as he was just going on the road

again so I guess you may have to wait a while for your response.

Please will you let us know what he says.

Just found out that coptis is effective against the other type of

chlamydia and also pneumonias (in Zhangs's book).

Do you know of any chlamydia pneumoniae forums apart from the cpnhelp

site one?

Cheers,

Carol

Hi Carol,

Thanks for sharing the info you got from Dr Zhang and Buhner. Yes I

will let you know what Buhner says though I think you might be able

to read it too here is the link to his page on planetthrive...

Maybe he will have something more to suggest there too. Sorry that

you are having to deal with the chlamydia pneumoniae aswell as the

borrelia though I guess it is common that some of us have multiple

infections to deal with. Dr Zhang sounds very interesting, which of

his books do you have? Do you feel that his herbs have helped you at

all? I sent my blood sample off to AW yesterday and will get my

results at the end of the week and I'm really curious to know what he

finds!

I decided to try the azithromycin as an experiment and I had read

that it is easier on the good bacteria compared to other antibiotics.

I feel pretty awful after I had taken it which I think was a

combination of die off and secondary porphyria and in hindsight I

probably should have tried a lower dose (I took 250mg). What is

really interesting though is that once I got through that my

digestion and dysbiosis improved a lot and my adrenals have been

feeling much stronger so it definitely had a positive effect on me in

the end and was confirmation that I do have some kind of bacterial

infection. Though I'm not quite sure whether I will go back to

taking it on a more regular basis yet. AW recommended that I take

Samento to reduce the bacterial load before continuing with

antibiotics but I thought I would try Buhner's herbs first for now

and started taking Japanese Knotweed yesterday so I'll see how I get

on with that.

Thats interesting about the coptis, I'm sure I read that recently

somewhere too and its lucky because I bought some not so long ago.

Chang on sensiblehealth.com recommends it for liver support and

bile flow but from a google it does look like it has antibacterial

properties too.

Sorry I dont know of any other forums specifically about Cpn. apart

from the cpnhelp site though I have come across a couple of

groups for CFSers with stealth infections like mycoplasma etc though

I havent visited them much. Do you know of many people with CFS who

are having success with any kind of treatment for CPn?

Take care,

Anne

Hi Anne,

The HH in Zhang's protocol is very strong. Gives a strong herx. I'm

actually taking dried herbs and boiling them up in a tea as

prescribed by a good chinese doc who lives near me. So the herbs are

not all exactly the same as Dr Zhang's. We don;t know if the dosage

of HH I am on is similar as he uses a concentrate. I am on Samento

too. I now have no borrelia left in my blood, though I know I still

have some kicking aorund cos if I stop all herbs for a week and

restart I get a herx.

My chinese doc has already added in coptis to hte mix as she says it

will suite my accupunucture channels. Plus she is increasing the

dose of HH as she thinks that will hit the chlamydia.

I've got Dr Z's Lyme book.

Cheers,

Carol

Hi Carolyn,

The lauricydin looks interesting. Found some references here.

Hi Carol,

Thanks for your post. Thats great you've managed to get rid of most of the

borrelia, it

sounds like the herbs your Chinese doc has you on have been quite successful for

you

even if you still have some hanging around, I guess it just shows how tough the

spirochete

is!  I hope that you're able to fully eradicate it eventually. When I've used

herbs before I've

always found that boiling up the dried ones is one of the best ways of taking

them

actually, they always seemed much more effective than capsules and even

tinctures

sometimes.

Thats interesting your doc thinks the HH might work against the chlamydia, let

us know

how you get on with it.

Take care,

Anne
