Guest guest
Hi, , I'll start with the easy answer. I get Plum Flower brand Hu Zhang instead of the Source Naturals Resveratrol. Here's a source with a picture. http://tinyurl.com/yvvjoo I just eat it mixed in yogurt - 1/2 tsp is about 1 gram. Others encapsulate it. I don't get anything cut and sifted except boneset, and sometimes red root. I use this form for making teas. I believe others use if for making tinctures. For boneset, I follow Buhner's instructions - 1 tsp cut $ sifted herb in 8 oz hot water, steep 15 minutes, strain and drink. I use the red root the same way, but let it soak longer because it is very woody. This form of red root seems to work better for me than tincture, so I use both. All others I buy in concentrate powder form, or powder form, whichever is available. Again, I just eat them in yogurt. Others encapsulate. I just hate taking all those capsules, but sometimes they are a lot more convenient, like if I'm traveling for a day. If a supplier does not offer an herb in powdered form, but has it cut and sifted, you can contact them and ask if they will powder it for you. I think Mountain Rose will, and maybe 1st Chinese? I mostly buy from Chinese Herbs Direct and Mountain Rose. They've both been great. Hope this helps, D. Guest guest
YOU NEED the powder form to encapsulate. HOW can you get the big chunks of the herb into a capsule. CUt and sifted is for making tinctures and maybe teas. I used Plum Flower Brand from 1st Chinese Herbs. I used the 5:1 extract for over a year. Now I have switched to their whole herb, powder. If I am going to encapsulate my own herbs, which is the best form to use and why? If the resveratrol from Source Naturals has fillers in it, where else can we get this herb? Thanks
