Showering with chest ports

Someone asked for info on showering with chest ports. I used saran wrap,

taped on but it was painful taking the tape off and sometimes water would

still get in. So, now, many months later, I am using one of those portable

handheld showering gizmos, and just avoiding the port area. I use a

washcloth to clean closer to it and wash my hair in the sink instead. It

works OK. The visiting nurse suggested replacing the fixed shower head with

the handheld kind, which I did after two visits to the hardware store. You

might try this arrangement if a port is going to stay in for a long time.
